A Lovely location right next door to the Cathedral and within walking distance to Arundel.  Food in the Inn was lovely and staff very friendly

Really good find and I would certainly return if in the area. Rooms were a good size with all amenities, food in the pub was excellent and all home cooked including the pickles and relish. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing I would mention is that the bathroom floor was very cold, being tiled and ground floor, however that was the only criticism I could make of a very good stay.

From the warm welcome on reception to a very comfortable room and a superb breakfast, on site safe parking an excellent stay .

A lovely place to stay. A warm welcome, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms and great food. You felt part of the community and at home, not like a visitor - has a lively vibe. Well located for central Arundel, train service and some lovely walks.

Great location and what a stunning town Arundel is. Really enjoyed our stay, good beer and food after a 6hour walk couldn't fault this place.Thanks for having us

Friendly,  helpful and informative staff.Early closing on Sunday was unfortunate but understandable.

Comfy and spacious room next to Arundel cathedral and a few minutes away from town. Staff were friendly and check in and out went smooth. Will come back and star here if in Arundel again next year :)

The lovely staff really took care of us and most especially our dog . The food was really high quality and very tasty. Accommodation spot on for a night away. Can recommend both a bite to eat for lunch and the breakfast which was delicious.

Pros: Location, price, excellent breakfast, quiet and all great.  It was also dog friendly.  I had room 1, with a queen 4 poster bed. Free parking was right outside the door.  It was a hot summer and there is no air conditioning, the windows open a few inches only, but we were able to borrow a tower fan. Con’s: Bathroom was a little awkward, with no place to put on my make up or toiletries bag at the sink. Tiny shower stall (I’m 5’4”, 110 lbs). No outlets in the bathroom. No table outside the bathroom near the large mirror to put hair dryer or makeup either. Flat pillows and rather scratchy comforter cover.

Excellent

Had a lovely comfortable room, clean and tidy & well decorated Bit frustrating that the pub this is set within closed at 6 on day of arrival & wasnt open other 2 days, with no prior notice. There was no TV available in the room and builders started early.However the service from Kerry, Katie and Dave was superb and accommodated us as best as possible during their refurb (which looks great, by the way!) Would love to stay again if in the area.

Nice place to stay, great hosts.

We had a lovely stay. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially James. The food was lovely, plenty of choice and well cooked. Our room was comfortable and reasonably spacious. The location is perfect for visiting the Castle Cathedral and the town. Brilliant that it has it's own car park. Only slight down point is the decor is a little tired in places and could do with a refresh.

I would stay here again.

Spacious, clean and modern room with excellent facilities.  Rooms are well separated from public house so no noise. More like a hotel. Short walk to Arundel centre.   Great welcome with proactive comms. We are frequent travellers to Arundel and would highly recommend the St Mary's Gate as excellent quality and value.

Great experience here. The new staff team really looked after me, from when I arrived until I left. I was greeted by a very polite and professional young member of staff who got me checked in quickly and showed me where the rooms were. The atmosphere in the pub was great so I went straight back in for a drink!Really good breakfast made fresh.I got some local tips and advice on places to visit too from the staff that all worked out perfectly!Thank you very much St Marys Gate!

Hotel booked for romantic getaway, excellent area to stay in just a short walk into town. Room clean and comfortable with everything needed. Shower a bit useless head needs sorting coffee maker great idea and parking directly outside. Bed very comfortable indeed. Right next to pub with open fire so perfect. A few mishaps booked 3 nights b&b but only got 2 breakfasts because one was on new years day and pub was closed so not brilliant and could have done with a daily room check cleanup as had to keep asking for clean cups toilet rolls etc. Had a great time there but new years eve the pub was very busy and lots of lads out the back of pub by the rooms getting very drunk and loud and being sick right outside the door had to ask them to move away several times but not great idea having that area there so close to the rooms.Overall was worth it we enjoyed our stay. just sort out those mishaps😉

Romantic break

Comfortable bed. Room wasn’t ready on check - in, but we had a free drink whilst waiting. Powerful shower. Towel rail efficient. Clean bedding and towels. Warm . Electrics and internet cable suspect. Wi-fi connection intermittent.Loo roll holder missing. Loo seat loose. Dusty blinds. Poor staffing levels owing to sickness meant it was closed two nights and no routine service. Needs two bedside tables and lamps rather than redundant chair. Considering it is dog friendly, no consideration as to the dogs needs- washing up food bowls and tinned food storage. A fridge would be good.

Good, but not perfect.

The staff were wonderful and so helpful. We had requested an early check in as going to a wedding and this has been sorted and our room was ready when we arrived. The weekend we were here there was a festival in Arundel so parking was a nightmare but we had a space at St Mary's within half an hour. Slept very well the bed was very comfortable and breakfast was great and very welcome and lots of fresh coffee on tap. Overall a great place to stay and would certainly come back again.

Stayed at The St Marys Gate Inn for a couple nights with a couple friends, one thing i have to say is WOW! From the staff to the food, it was amazing, food came out really quickly and was piping hot, i had the beer battered cod burger. You could tell it was all house made, it was delicious! Thank you to Amber and Maizie who made our experience in Arundel 10/10
I would definitely stay and eat there again!
