195 reviewsGreat stay at Ferndale Lodge. We booked a weekend away for between Christmas and New Year and settled on Ambleside and this hotel and we certainly weren’t disappointed. Location is excellent; literally a 2 minute walk from the centre of Ambleside. Also has the added bonus of parking. Rob, the owner, was lovely and welcoming on arrival. We wanted to watch the darts and he was really knowledgeable with the pubs that were showing it. We had room 4 which was overlooking the road, not as issue at all, even with the window open there was very little noise. Our room was cosy and warm, comfy bed, great shower, loads of storage and plenty of tea/coffee. Overall, we had an excellent stay. If I had to pick at anything, we would have liked a coat hook just to hang out wet jackets on after a day exploring but we made do. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, we wished we could have stayed longer.
