The Blacksmiths Arms Naburn

We have finished our fourth year here as seasonals and are looking forward to our fifth year on this lovely site. We have seen many changes over the years, but the site is looking the best it ever has. Yes, there is construction work going on with the new amenities block, but if you are happy to use your own facilities that isn’t a problem and it doesn’t detract from the site. The wardens are welcoming and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. I can vouch for that myself as I injured my ankle while down at the locks. My husband was coming back to get the car to bring me back when he met the warden, no car needed, he insisted bringing my husband back in the utility vehicle to fetch me. Above and beyond duty! The site is well maintained and peaceful. Pitches are generous and well defined. Maintenance is regular and thorough. Wardens and support staff are warm and welcoming. It is lovely to meet the short term visitors and hear the positive comments they have to make. We are only too happy to confirm their impression isn’t a one off, their experience is a regular norm that we enjoy throughout the year. There is plenty of space to walk your dog on the dog walking fields, but I can highly recommend the walk down the side of the river at the locks. Peaceful and serene. Tea by the Lock is an ideal stop off for refreshments and a warm up in the cold times, and dogs are warmly received. Thank you Andrew for supporting the staff and “us seasonals”. I have read some negative comments on trip advisor, but all I can say is any site can get some negative minded visitors. Let’s hope more people read the truth about this site and come and enjoy what it has to offer.
