We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Alpina Boutique-Hotel in Ringgenberg. The owners are so personable and thoughtful. We were on our trip to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday, which I had mentioned to the owners in a previous email. When we got to our room, there was a huge birthday balloon on the bed as well as a card and macaroons. It was so special that they remembered and helped us celebrate! The room was lovely and the breakfast was wonderful, with special treats cooked by the owners. I am so glad we chose to stay here verses staying in Interlaken proper. Ringgenberg is only 5 minutes out of town, but so much quieter and serene. What a special spot- we highly recommend it!

Quiet, Serene alternative to Interlaken with personable owners

Hotel Alpina was incredible. A traditional Swiss boutique hotel. Richard and his wife, Tania, run the hotel; they are their staff are all wonderful, super friendly and made us feel completely at home.
The rooms are of a great size and gorgeous views.
Of course, all rooms are very clean.
A beautiful walk along the Brienz lake will get you into town in about 40 mins, or you can take the train (3 mins) or bus (10 mins) to get you there.
We felt it was better to stay slightly out of town; it feels more authentic and away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy areas of Interlaken. This is part of what makes Alpina so fantastic.
The breakfast was delicious, with fresh omelettes, fruit, yoghurt, warm breads, croissants, cheeses and anything you could want from a Swiss / European style breakfast. 
We will definitely be back!!

Best hotel in Interlaken / Ringgenberg / Interlaken region

The owner and staff of this lovely place are hosts with Passion. We had a wonderful stay and the room was very comfortable. Having a glass of wine on the balcony with a glass of wine is just the best how to end an busy day. The breakfast was great and there was more food than we could eat. We certainly will visit again when we will be in the region again.  

Home away from home

Excellent location and service. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room and very quiet surroundings. Right on the lake with a spectacular view. Delicious breakfast. 10 minutes from Interlaken Ost train station for a lifetime experience on the Jungfraujoch.

The location is great, close to Interlaken but quiet.
The hosts  Mr & Mrs Caluori-Kaiser are lovely and very helpful with suggestions to hikes.
The breakfast was superb.
The room very warm and comfy, I strongly recommend.

Great hotel

I don't know where to start to praise this place! The owners are delicious, kind and exhaustive in explaining the attractions and excursions to do (assess the idea of going to grindelwald on three-wheeled gocart down a 6 km descent), breakfast is super plentiful and varied, the location in front of the lake is super! It is a few minutes from interlaken and they will give you a free bus+train ticket! Super clean, spacious and quiet rooms! I'll be back like this!!! We'd better, and we'll be back, because we have.

Feeling at home with a dream view

We stayed at Hotel Alpina on June 7th and June 8th. There are several things that are great about this hotel :
1) Firstly we were upgraded to a lake view room - it was just a breathtaking view from the balcony
2) We were received very warmly by the hotel - by the owners as well as the working staff
3) Special mention to Claudia there - who was extremely sweet and took great care of us during our stay at Alpina
4) The breakfast was very good and we had a good array of options - both Vegetarian and well as otherwise 
5) The hotel is very near to the bus stop and hence good connectivity to Interlaken, without the hustle bustle of Interlaken.

We would strong recommend Alpina , Ringenberg to anyone who is looking to explore Interlaken. Don't worry that your hotel is not in Interlaken - it's almost as if it's there. Ringenberg is how real Switzerland feels like.
But most of all, stay there for the breathtaking view from Hotel Alpina and the warm hospitality of the people there.



Lovely stay in Alpina

Firstly, this is 3 star hotel, being 100 years old, and being a shade basic as far as hotels go. But, it gets a full 5 star rating. The hosts are warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful Good English is spoken, and they will tolerate bad attempts at German.. For the lake facing rooms, the views are magnificent over lake Brienz, being almost at lake's edge. The breakfast is ample and varied, and omelettes will be prepared to order. The hotel has a nice, relaxed feel. For those with cars, the parking is free. For those without, there is a local bus and train, which are completely free on the Interlaken guest card. It is within easy reach of Interlaken Ost, the hub for many excursions. Apparently, there are eateries in Ringgenberg, but, if so, are not extensive. It is a small and quiet village. This hotel is very highly recommended.

A jewel on the lake

We were a family of 8 staying here for 4 nights. The couple Mr & Mrs Caluori-Kaiser were  such lovely, warm and affable hosts, staying here felt like a home away from home! The hotel is extremely warm and cosy, and even though it's homely it's also done up quite elegantly! The hotel is in a little lane and sits at the edge, overlooking the lake. There is a terrace garden outside with tables and deck chairs set up so one can sit and gaze out at Lake Brienz for hours. It really is the most idealistic setting! There is a delicious buffet laid out every morning and the cook is amazing! The rooms are lovely and warm, and the bedding marshmallow like! The hosts are so lovely and kind that your entire experience with them is highlighted by their presence and your interaction with them. We will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Interlaken and will DEFINITELY come back and stay here.
