Ypsylon Tourist Resort

I have just returned from my two week stay at Ypsylon Resort, Sri Lanka and cannot express how grateful I am for the amazing Panchakarma treatment. I arrived exhausted from the UK after a couple of tough years and left feeling a whole new person - happier and energised and a body that felt alive and free of stress and pain. From the airport transfer with Pia to the last day I was looked after by every single member of the welcoming and charming team. To wake up and see the beautiful gardens lovingly attended by Helen and smell the frangipani flowers was so restorative and the fabulous and healthy Ayurvedic meals were varied and creative and even though I enjoyed and ate well I still left 4kg lighter but that was secondary to the lightness I felt in my whole body and mind. I put this down to the wonderful and professional Panchakarma treatment programme diagnosed and overseen by Dr T and Doctor Erandi and executed by a team of fabulous Ayurveda therapists who all excelled in their level of expertise. It was helpful to also have a lady doctor and Dr Erandi assisted me with a specific acupuncture programme during my stay. The doctors listened to all of my concerns ailments and desires for the program and at the end I left feeling might like my old self and so much happier! Everything was kept immaculately clean even though we were in the tropics with wildlife around and Selendi, the lovely waitress, kept the restaurant clean and swept as well as running around waiting on everyone The hotel is comfortable and kept impeccably clean and the fact that everything is on one site makes it so easy to enjoy the daily treatments as well as being able to enjoy the beach, the views of the islands and the sound of the waves. During my stay I had to visit the eye hospital and Joanna could not have been more accommodating arranging for transport and finding the best hospital in Columbo which offered a very reassuring international level service With my many visits to spas and therapists over the years I have found the best lady in the whole world. Chandrika was such a sensitive soul and as a supervisor with over 15 years experience she expertly kneaded and restored my body and intuitively knew where I needed the most attention. Her manner was so kind and caring and I can honestly say, without exaggeration, that she is the best therapist I have ever had and based on her skill and expertise I will be returning to Ypsylon next year as well as for everything else which makes this such a lovely place to heal. She oversees the standard of all therapist and which is consistently high, without exception Huge thank you to Johanna managing the day to day running of everything. She expertly kept a constant eye on each guest with a warm, gentle yet professional manner and oversaw all staff to ensure the operation ran smoothly It is great to see that this Ayurvedic treatment centre is recovering after the pandemic and ongoing current global conditions and to hear that the management looked after all the staff during the lockdown is evidence of the ethos of the place and shows how important warmth and care for everyone is for the operation This is a place you must visit, not only to restore your own soul and peace of mind, but also to help a wonderful venture helping local people, many of whom have been working at Ypsylon over 20 years when I understand the Ypsylon Diving and Ayurvedic Centre was first created. I am already looking forward to a return visit next year to relax, restore, listen to the sound of the waves, practice yoga, eat good food and receive the nourishing massages and treatments once again in order to reset and recover from my normal fast pace of life and workload I cannot recommend it high enough if you want results!
