108 reviewsWhat a beautiful stay we had at Ruins Villa! There are 4 double rooms that open out onto a spacious terrace overlooking gardens filled with nature. We saw deer, rabbits, monkeys and bats on our nature tour that Upali kindly took us on. Upali made us feel instantly welcome, providing us all the information we need to make the most of our stay. He organised tours, provided us with bikes to explore the ruins, and cooked the most amazing Sri Lankan dishes for us to enjoy! The guest house is located right next to the ruins - we went on a lovely bike ride all along the canal and rice paddy fields to start our ruins tour, ending up back right by the guest house, which was very convenient! Upali will also be happy to arrange tuk tuks for any other tours you want to do - we went to Dambulla and Sigiriya for great rates. The rooms were very simple, but at the price and location, there was not a lot more we needed! We would completely recommend this guesthouse to all those wanting a relaxing, quiet break in the beautiful city of Polonnaruwa. You’re in the safest of hands with the host, too.
