The Hostal el Cid, although the name may be misleading, is not a hostel, but the equivalent of an Italian boarding house. Despite our very late arrival (reception open from 9am to 7pm), the doorkeeper was kind enough to give us the keys and provide us with the main information about the structure which is in the heart of Carmen, very close to the Central Market and behind Plaza Redonda. Our wedding room (No. 101) satisfied our request to stay on the lower floors, as well as the staff proved to be careful in getting us to find a hair dryer, after asking for tenders if the room was to try it. The worst experience of my life in hotels.

Don't look at this booked accommodation, because there are wonderful photos that have nothing to do with reality and falls, as I pass by to myself. Good quality ratio price for the great location: practically at the centre of everything. Machinery and equipment

We had a lot of luggage and were sent to the top floor with no lift. The building smelt like old stale pipes all the time. There was a kitchen but we weren’t allowed access when we only wanted to boil water. Room wasn’t clean

Not happy

I stayed in this hostel for 4 nights. Room without comfort and little cleaning. No sound, you can hear everything from the other rooms (everything). The only positive note is the location, in the middle of the historic center.

Hostel in the center but room without comfort

It's a very simple, cheap, and well-located hostel for walking around part of the city. Two blocks from the central market. It doesn't have an elevator and has several floors, which makes it a bit uncomfortable but for the price you can't ask for more. We took a room with a private bathroom with good spirits. we went with family but maybe it's more suitable for young people who don't look so much for comfort.
