Leo Punta Umbria III - Adults Only

This was a good and reasonably priced place to stay. Spacious enough and with a lovely pool and jacuzzi. Also, just across the road and through the Barceló resort is a beautiful walkway to the beach, through pine forest. It’s on a nice and accessible wooden path. 

Fairly modern, but clearly underused area. 

Room was clean basic but just what was required, well once they gave us a kettle.
Cleaned fairly, underground car parking, kids and adult pools.

The only downside was it's a a resort for Spanish people. No menus in any other language,  even the people in the gold resorts had difficulty with our poor linguistic skills.

Hey I went for a rest and that what I got, great weather.

Great and relaxing

Great place 

Visited for two days (one night) in July with family of 4 (2 kids of 3 and 1). Weather was not so good the first day but awesome on the second.

Location is very close to the beach and shopping center. Supermarkets are also close by. Not lots of outdoor parks though. 

Swimming pool and rooms are OK if you're on a budget. Our room was clean but had no hairdryer. 

Some staff are friendly but please bear in mind the rooms are not available from 5pm (might be later than that) and check out is at 11am. Will not recommend to families with kids for a short stay but would recommend if you're looking for a basic holiday and the £'s are a little tight.

Only if you're looking for a basic holiday

Leo punta umbría has several hotels in a row. We stayed at III, which is for adults only. The aesthetics of the hotel and the room are quite 90s I would say, but the room was spacious. The cleaning level was ok. The location is not far from the beach (5mins with car or ~20 walking). The room had no hairdryer and the one we got from reception was not working properly. If you have a car you need to pay 7 euros a night to get it into the parking of the hotel, which I find a bit frustrating. The people in the reception were very friendly and they talk english, however, in the small cafe which is part of the hotel, they don't even try. In general, the area is not very international and they don't speak english even in most restaurants and shops. I was in the area for work and I don't think I would go back for vacation.

Ok, nothing special

Pros: 20 min walk to the beach which means you don’t have to spend hrs
looking for parking there if you don’t plan on bringing lots of stuff with you. Parking in punta umbría is impossible in summer.  Our bed was comfortable and we loved the little terrace overlooking the pool. The pool area is also big enough and they have a small kids pool. There is also wifi included and the kitchen is sufficient for making breakfast.  It was relatively cheap when we stayed here in May. They did a fine job cleaning our room the days we were there.  There’s lots of places to eat close by and a little shop where you can buy whatever you’ve forgotten at the supermarket. 

Cons: They charge you for cribs (8 euro a night), and for the underground parking (5 euro).  There is no snack/drinks bar at
the pool.  The door handle
to the bathroom was broken and the couch was small, plastic and not comfortable for sitting on while watching tv.  

In general it’s pretty no frills but we had a great weekend and was happy with the price. 


Three and a half stars

The apartments are reasonably clean and the pool area was big enough to accommodate the number of guests.
Although the staff are friendly, the place is too big and you are often of the feeling that you are just a room number rather than a person.
Our room view was a bit restricted and although it was relatively new, there was a downside as the walls were rather thin between rooms and some nights sleep were disturbed by late returners or new arrivals waking us up.
This is the second place we have been to that was supposed to be adult only but seemed (in our opinion) not to be. Maybe it is us, but we don't believe 16 year olds are adults and often prove it in some of their behaviour. Next year we will probably opt for a private Villa and only have  one holiday rather than 2.
On a positive note, the beach was close by and the weather was fabulous.

Too big to treat people as individuals

we booked online for €217 for two nights with a dog.
when we arrived we were charged €280 + another €14 for parking - not quite sure how this is, but after a 10 day drive from the UK we just wanted to get our heads down. 

we asked about information for the parking as we had a roof box & it’s underground, instead of allowing us to attempt to get the car in before parting with more money, we got told to “visually look” if it will fit. Not quite sure who’s memory is that good they know the exact height dimensions of their car without it being there when comparing it to the roof of a car park down a slope? 

No water provided in the room, which when paying €147 a night, you would expect & don’t think is much of an unreadable ask..
We then asked for late check out as our ferry back to 
the Canaries isn’t until midnight, leaving us 13 hours after check out in the baking heat, with a dog with nowhere to go... (at an extra €40!) to get told it’s not possible. No explanation for this either, looking around the hotel, it is nowhere near capacity & still available for bookings online from our check out date also so not quite sure how it’s not possible?

I would NEVER recommend anyone booking this place, a complete rip off & the staff clearly have no interest in helping their guests, or even providing them a half decent service!

just don’t bother - find another hotel nearby

Cancelled after we arrived no apology nobody on the desk it took us an hour to find out they were going to cancel. Rubbish contact nobody answered the phone really could not be more useless customer service is appalling didn't care about anyone
