Monsuau Cala D'Or Hotel - Adults Only

We have just returned from a week’s stay in this wonderful hotel. We paid extra for one of the swim up rooms (room 2005) and it was definitely worth the extra money. However we were on the end of the shared pool and had the biggest area right outside our room. This is not the same for all of the swim up rooms though. Every single member of the staff were friendly and helpful and to name a few, Beatriz on reception, Juan and Hugo in the bar and restaurant. We ate at the hotel on our first evening and the negative was that they served our main courses at the same time as removing our starters that we had only just finished. Breakfast was a fabulous selection and I enjoyed a fresh omelette every morning, followed by a great selection of fresh fruit. As most people have already commented, there are plenty of sun loungers around the pool and on our last day, we went down at 9:00 am and there wasn’t a single towel on any of the beds. As we were staying bed and breakfast, we ate at Cala Ferreira on 2 nights but you do need to book as it was fully booked on our last night. This restaurant is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. In the opposite direction, walking towards Cala D’or we ate at Tapas y mas that was lovely and further into Cala D’or we ate at Diferent and Rustic ( highly recommend both restaurants). It takes about 20-25 minutes to walk into the lively centre of Cala D’or but it’s a far more interesting route to walk via the supermarkets and bars. We also had a few lunchtime drinks and lunch at Marley’s (10 min walk) which is a great place run by a great British couple to stay out of the midday sun for a few hours. The only negative comment on our whole weeks stay at this fabulous hotel is that our room did not have a bathroom door and the position of the mirrored wardrobes gave you absolutely no privacy when using the toilet. Please please fix this as I know we are not the only couple who have pointed this flaw out.
