We decided to try staying in Mestre instead of Venice island and were happy with our choice of the Four Points. As Marriott Titanium we got an upgrade to a spacious one-bedroom suite. Some of the furniture was a bit worn, and the bath/shower needed new grouting, but it was very comfortable. We arrived late on the first night and got into the restaurant just before it closed. Our burgers were excellent. Breakfast was very good (prosecco if you wanted it!) and the staff were friendly and efficient. They did a good job of keeping the tables cleared and set up. Aymen was particularly helpful. There is a public bus service to Venice Piazzale Roma just 50 metres from the front door, or you can get a direct train from Ospedale Station which is a 10 minute walk. Costs €1.50 one way. We can recommend Sushi Wok 008, a sushi/Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet about a five-minute walk away on the same side of the road.
