Hotel Villa Gioiosa

I was looking for a base for a short break to explore Venice and to relax, ideally on the beach. I contacted the hotel to see if there were vacancies as their website half suggested they might not; they replied very quickly with a fantastic rate. The greeting on arrival could not have been friendlier, really warm and welcoming. As there was a balance to be paid I expected to be asked to settle up immediately - not so, any time up to late evening on the day before leaving! The room was very contemporary, spacious with a good balcony all was definitely as good as the pictures. There was an in room safe which I was not expecting. The Wifi signal was strong and pretty fast. The choice at breakfast was huge; eggs, bacon, sausage, various breads, toast, fruit, yogurt, cereal, selection of cold meats and cheeses, a large selection of cakes and biscuits. This was all presented superbly. The staff in the restaurant were all attentive and so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We only got a little time on the beach due to the weather. Sadly our flight home was cancelled at short notice with no offer of any practical support from the airline! In a somewhat agitated state I went to reception to see if they could find us a room - they immediately stepped up and got a room sorted out for us. They did not inflate the rate, even apologising that they had to charge tax on the extra stay. I have thought long and hard to suggest things they could do better but failed miserably.
