319 reviewsWe were heading to Vicenza to meet up with friends for a significant birthday celebration and decided to add on three nights in Mantova. We stayed at Scaravelli Residenza, dined at Scaravelli Ristorante, and bought a special birthday cake from the Scaravelli bakery. It was an exquisite, luxurious experience. The business is sited on the historic and beautiful Pia Erbe in the heart of this wonderful city. The staff who greeted us were impeccable in their attention and care. The room was big and bright and carefully detailed. Breakfast came in a box to our door, straight from the bakery. In the ristorante, a richly diverse menu included Pike in Gonzaga sauce and slow cooked beef with polenta. Our head waiter guided us with courtesy and gentle humour from the start of a meal in a space filled with black and white photos of great jazz players, through to the last drop of great Grappa. And our birthday friend was delighted with her special locally made Mantovan cake. Never to be forgotten. Thank you.
