Hotel Kratis

Kratis' restaurant has probaly the most delicious tradional Macedonian meal. Should you be looking for some authentic and well prepared food, then this Hotel/restaurant would probably be the best choice. Recommendation: Macedoniam pastrmajlija.

We stay one night in the hotel. Rooms were  very clean, excellent and friendly staff, helpful reception, we had excellent dinner and breakfast. I recommend to visit hotel and very nice small city Kratovo.    

Delicious coffee, beautiful views of the town, parking nearby. Super clean rooms, fair prices. Really great place to stay at when visiting Kratovo. It is a small town and this place is very well kept and fresh. The prices are reasonable.

The hotel its amazing and very cheap, it's right in the center of the old town , have a great view , the rooms are good and clean the same I can say about the bathroom, the personal it's very kind and the food in the restaurant it's delicious.

Great hotel located in the centre of the old town, onsite parking in front of hotel in enclosed yard. Lots of interesting walks just at the doorstep, old town full of character and picturesque. Check in super quick, room spacious, bathroom large and private, awesome views from windows. Enjoyed dinner and drinks at the hotel, very tasty and so so reasonable. Staff were friendly and if they couldn’t speak English they quickly got a colleague who could to explain things for us. Kratovo and Hotel Kratis were worth the detour off the main route to Belgrade for us.

The hotel is execellent. Spacious rooms, several floors, room-service is one of the best I've had in a while, everything is clean and desinfected every day, new sheets, towels, soaps, shower accessories, staff is always friendly, polite and eager to help, with smile on their face. The location is perfect, just few steps from the town's center, all the bars and pub that they have in the town is just near by, also cultural center of Kratovo as well as Fire Department is just behind the hotel Kratis, so you'll be safe and sound while visiting the place. Hotel has a lot of conference spaces, amazing for trainings, they have outside terraces and a pool that opens up in summer, amazing food as well, my applause to the kitchen staff. Kratovo is a beautiful town, so the view from most of the windows (if it doesn't go to the street) is really nice. Hotel is next to the small river and in some of the rooms you can always hear the sounds, so it might be annoying, but can also be relaxing, depends on people I guess. Even though hotel is next to the road, there's not that many cars going around.

We had a double room at Hotel Kratis for one night, it was good value for money especially by western European standards.  It is the only hotel in Kratovo so there is not a lot of choice but we were very impressed with the hotel, it looked like it had been recently renovated throughout and was very nicely decorated.  The room was average size, bright and very clean, there was a huge floor to ceiling cupboards with plenty of storage, desk and chair, good lighting, lots of sockets including next to the bed.  The bed was a proper double bed as requested and was very comfortable, and the wifi was good.  The bathroom was really big and nicely designed with a big double shower and lots of hot water at a good pressure.  The only (minor) complaint we had is that although the fridge appeared to be new we couldn't get it to work after plugging it in.  It was late when we discovered it wasn't working and we were checking out at 5.30am to drive to the airport so there was no point at that stage getting someone to look at it.  It was only a mild inconvenience given we were only there a few hours and I am sure the staff would have done something about it had we asked.  The whole area was silent at night and free parking is available at the front of the hotel.  There is 24 hour reception - the staff on check-in on our arrival were very friendly and helpful, and spoke good English, however the man who checked us out the following morning didn't seem at all happy.  Kratovo is a small town and the hotel is right in the centre so is perfectly located for anything you might need, the locals are very friendly and will go out of their way to help you if you need anything.  Unfortunately we didn't have long enough to enjoy Kratovo properly so we will definitely return and we will stay at Hotel Kratis again.

We spent a night at the Hotel Kratis on our tour around North Macedonia – great value place. The location is great, just at the entrance to the upper end of town with a big free parking lot just 100m away. There are plenty of restaurants and a supermarket very close by. The hotel seemed relatively new and well-maintained. Check-in went smoothly and the desk staff spoke basic English which was a big help. We had a 2nd storey room which was a bit on the small side but very comfortably furnished. We had a small fridge, good Wifi connection and a TV with English programming. We had a nice view over the town and the room was clean and well-maintained. The only complaint was that the shower cubicle leaked all over the bathroom floor leaving a watery mess every time we showered. Another weird thing was that they tended to not turn on any lights in the common areas of the hotel so it was always a bit dark inside. The free breakfast was reasonably good, your choice of a few different a la carte menu items. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend it to other travelers. 

Accommodation is limited in Kratovo but this hotel is a very good option. It’s located literally only metres from the main town square and there is on site parking in the courtyard to the front of the hotel. The hotel is smart and spotlessly clean throughout but it could do with a little bit of brightening up as all decor and furnishings are in shades of brown or beige. Our room furnishings were very good quality with a comfortable bed, although there was probably a little too much furniture for the size of the room which left not a lot of residual space. The bathroom was, again, of very good quality. Breakfast was taken on a sunny terrace but was limited to omelette and bread. To be fair, the omelettes are absolutely delicious but a little variety would be good. We were there two nights which was fine but if you were there longer I think the daily omelette would wear thin. Although central the location is nice and quiet and the hotel itself was silent at night. Rooms get warm in summer but there is efficient air conditioning. The free WiFi was strong and reliable.

It is exactly what you pay for, value for money. The staff is super nice and helpful. The restaurant is fine, tasty food and quite a lot on the menu. They have a parkigin front, locked, so vehicles are safe. It is quite the hub of the village, so you might want to ask for a room looking away from the main street (if they have such). Otherwise the noise is coming up through the open window. The mattress is very soft.

Great value hotel in Kratovo

I stayed one night in Hotel Kratis. The room was very good with comfortable bed, lots of space and wifi that actually worked (which doesn't always seem to be the case in Macedonian hotels). The receptionist spoke basic English but other staff didn't. This was a problem for breakfast - no buffet like in other hotels, and no menu card either, so I couldn't chose what I had for breakfast (I got an omelet with bacon - while I don't eat pork). Too bad that communication was nearly impossible. Overall the hotel was great, the room was very good as well - breakfast was just a detail :-)
