Hotel Casona La Merced

I have enjoyed staying at the Hotel La Merced, conveniently located to the Gold Museum, the Opera House, casinos, good food, shopping and so much more within walking distance.. The Pizza at the nearby Hotel Intercontinental is to die for by the way,,, but priced too high for a stay. The water in the pool is spring fed and must come directly from the mountains, as it is ice cold... so be prepared. Your stay comes with a nice breakfast, so indulge. If you rent a car, avoid parking on the street, as it is certain, your rented car will be vandalized, unless you park in the Merced's garage. The neighborhood is safe to walk at night if you are a confident and aware person. Get a room by the street, if you can, the view is nice, and lively, and the ancient La Merced Church is across the street where they hold masses twice daily. Have your taxi driver take you to the Oasis Drive In, for a nice treat by the way.
