This was honestly the best place we've stayed. We don't normally write reviews but after being recommended to come here by a friend we were blown away. The people are so kind and hospitable... The dogs are so adorable and friendly and make the hostel so feel like home. We went on a lovely walk with them and they are so cute. The hosts were so kind and taught us some salsa steps before taking us to a really fun salsa night. They protected us and made sure we were okay and having fun. You will not regret your stay.

Superb atmosphere in the hostel. I was planning to stay elsewhere but I decided to come back. So glad I got to spend my Christmas and NY with the lovely people there. Great garden for chilling out, the two dogs are lovely and friendly. Good breakfast if you get up before 10. Beds are amazing - super huge and comfy. The best room is the largest one - it has the biggest beds, private bathroom and it's the cheapest. The only thing - definitely pay on check out instead of checking in.

This is one of my favorite places in Cali...its a beautiful house with a great backyard and great vibes! You can have a beer and escape from the tough reality of the city and get to meet people from all over the world. Ive also had the opportunity to stay over night, very comfortable and it has breakfeast included (which is always a plus) and really good service, everyone has such good vibes.

I had a great three-night stay at Caelum - the staff are so friendly and encourage everyone to go out as a hostel (normally a group of around 15-20 people or less). They know all the great salsa bars and clubs in the city, there are salsa lessons at the hostel on particular days and a lot of people staying stick around for a long time to learn - I definitely could have stayed longer! It is also good if you want somewhere more relaxed as there is a beautiful outdoor area. Highly recommend :)

This is the right place to make friends and get to know the real Cali, they recommend activities out of the tourist regular trail and promote the local culture, Salsa classes are offered for free some days of the week and the private lessons will make you rock at the dance floor.

PROS
*Good location.
*Young woman working the reception was friendly.

CONS
*Hostel was full so I got stuck in the basement, which is disgusting, even by hostel standards. It's hot, depressing, the lighting is poor, there are way too few lockers and outlets and way too many mosquitoes. 
*Staff knows it's bad, because the young woman said unprompted that the place would be less busy the next day and I could move into an upstairs bed then. 
*I've stayed in over fifty hostels and this was only the second time I left a place without spending the night. The difference was the other place gave me a refund. This one didn't.
