Excellent customer service! The staff could not have been more accommodating to our group! Rooms are clean. Breakfast was tasty. Shontel working the reception desk was AMAZING!! 👏👏👏

As a business traveler with a truck and trailer, my biggest concern everywhere I go is the safety of my truck and customer product onboard. ZERO complaints for here. Very friendly and accommodating. I will continue to stay when coming through the area.

The property was over all nice, every time we walked back in the room it smelled stinky a little bit but other than that the stay was good. The location was nice and close to a lot of things.

Excellent staff, nice clean rooms, quiet and pleasant experience overall.  Great place to stay.

Everything smelled very clean and the breakfast was awesome. The girls that managed the breakfast area did a wonderful job! I wish there was an ice machine in every floor.

It was an average stay, the bed was comfortable the breakfast was great! The only thing is the pool was closed so I think they should have lowered their rate a bit, because that amenity wasn’t available. The cleanliness was ok. When walking into the front doors it would help the place look better if the windows were clean.

I would rate this hotel 4 out of 5 stars only because the swimming area was just ok.  Water felt like it just came out of the tap.  That was our only minor issue. We weren’t there to swim, but it would have been a downfall with our kids if we did plan for more swimming.
Staff was amazing!  Check in, breakfast (especially 5/28) ladies were fantastic!
Food was very good.  Eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, bagels, muffins, pancakes, yogurt, cereal.  Many juice options, milk, coffee.  Apples, bananas, clementines.  One of the best included breakfasts we’ve had.
Room was very clean.  Towels were brand new.  Beds we’re comfortable.
Anything we needed was taken care of promptly.  Our coffee maker didn’t work and the front brought us a replacement very quickly.  
If we needed fresh towels that too was quick and simple.
Close to highway.   Near Target, many restaurants.
Our family would highly recommend this hotel!

Great stay!

I was in Waterloo for Business and stayed at the Holiday Inn during my tenure. My experience overall was great and started at the very beginning. The flight I had actually arrived early and the hotel staff ever so graciously allowed me to check-in 3 hours early! The room was clean, staff was nice, and breakfast was good (coffee downstairs tasted good!)

Business Trip In Iowa

The downside to this hotel is that there are a lot of maintenance items that are needed.  Some things I saw during my visit are that the hot tub stopped working in the middle of a cycle, the toilet in my room was running a bit and the curtain in my room was torn.  Other than the hot tub, I can look past these items.

On the plus side, the Holiday Inn Express breakfast was largely back which was good to see since that is one of the reasons to go to a Holiday Inn Express.  I was still surprised that there was no pen, paper, Gideon bible or anything else paper in the room.  This must be a remnant of Covid precautions.  I misplaced my pen and ended up having to go down to the lobby to get one.  So, I definitely noticed this.

The area around the hotel has a mall, stores and restaurants.  It looked like the mall was pretty empty based on the lack of cars in the parking lot.  There is a waterpark/putt putt golf center nearby as well.  Overall, it is in a convenient area.

Maintenance

We stayed for one night.  When we walked in no one was wearing masks and there was a large party in the common area.  The front desk had a plexiglass glass shield.  The desk person was very nice.  She told us the door to the wing of rooms should block out sound but if we could hear the noise in our room to call and she would take care of the party.

Rooms could use a bit of a facelift but it was quiet.  Beds were very comfortable and everything looked clean.  Room had fridge and microwave.  

The only minor inconvenience was there were no wash cloths.

Quiet Rooms

Stayed here several times when working in the area. It’s clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Located just off San Marnan Drive with several restaurants nearby. Breakfast is typical HIE choices, but again the area is neat and clean. Always ready even when going down first thing in the morning. 

Iowa November 2019

Check-in was very quick, took only a couple of minutes and front desk clerk was friendly. The hotel overall was very clean. Our room, double queen, was clean, the bed was comfortable, with the choice of soft or firm pillows. Our room was kept stocked with coffee and toiletries from Bath & Body Works. The pool area was nice and clean, we enjoyed it our second night. Breakfast was nice, they served omelettes, bacon, sausage, warm cinnamon rolls, bagels, pancakes, toast, cereal, etc, basically something for everyone. Several restaurants, movie theater and mall close by.  All the staff were friendly, we would stay here again.

Nice hotel

The staff was very friendly, The coffee was available every time and when you hot coffee fresh one was prepared ,and given to me with a smile. The room are very clean and tidy. The lobby had a good selection of beverages and eatables like chocolates, biscuits etc. The breakfast was super delicious, hygienic and the staff of the breakfast was asking for any additional service   

Experience in Holiday Inn Express Waterloo

Spent the night here in our way back to Illinois.

Comfortable rooms, really what you’d expect from HIE properties most anywhere. 

Thought the rate was just a tad high, but not altogether out of line compared to other properties. 

Likely stay again on future business trips passing through the area. 

Iowa October 2018

We were in town for a wedding and stayed at this Holiday Inn.  This is a very nice hotel.  I heard they are going to be renovating the place, our room wasn't on the floor that is being renovated, but still nice.  Everything you may need for a stay.  Comfortable bed, hot shower and clean room.  Decent breakfast, I really liked the eggs.
