The B&B's of Monarc Ranch

If you are seeking a place of quiet and refuge, monarch Ranch is it.  We came here for 5 nights to hear some friends play in Luckenbach.  My wife and I could not have been more pleased.  Clean!  Remote (but still close enough to town)! Off grid!  Out on an active +300 acre ranch.

The accommodations; 2bed,2 bath plus full kitchen, laundry yes great wi fi.

Wake up in the morning go sit out on the porch and have a good cup of coffee (all the coffee fixers in the kitchen).  And man oh man you are in Nirvana…

We have been here many times over the past five years, primarily staying in "Among the Texas Stars", although we have also stayed in "Among the Crepe Myrtles" & "Among the Pecans" from time to time. The key with choosing a unit is to understand the group you have and understand the type of experience you want to have.There's just two of us, and we like the rustic experience, so we often go with the smallest unit, cook over the open fire, lounge in the private hot tub, and socialize with the cows, horses, deer and kittens.But, if you have a big group, or you're more of a glamper, then the bigger units are going to work well for you. We have brought both sets of in-laws and they also had a blast. 

The ranch isn't too far from town, but is also out where all the vineyards are, so it feels oddly "centrally located" despite being in the middle of nowhere. 

The wifi here is actually FANTASTIC. We've worked over international VPN systems with no problems. 

Monica's baked goods (the second B in "B&B") are amazing. 

Walk to the river. Take pictures with the "to the river" sign. After a few years you'll have a fun piece of time lapse wear and tear caused by weather and conditions. 

We are deeply involved in Grape Creek Vineyard and will be coming to Fredericksburg for many years to come, can't imagine staying anywhere else when we do.

We have been visiting the ranch for many years. We visit the B & B rentals and love them all.  We invite friends and family to join us and everyone always enjoys and loves the ranch. 

This visit was no exception and exceeded our expectations.  

We introduced our younger great niece and nephew to Monarc, a 7 year old and an 8 year old. It was so nice witnessing them petting the horses and how easily they were so entertained watching the beautiful cattle.  They spent hours outdoors and never asked for their toys,video games, or complained. They were so amazed by all the whitetail deer and axis deer. They played so hard outdoors and they are already asking to come back. 

For us, it’s reminiscent of our grandmothers home.  We love the Crepe Myrtles and were so excited when we saw it was available when we were planning this trip.  

The moment you drive through the gate,it just feels like home.  When we arrived at the Crepe Myrtles, the white picket fence and the porch swing brought back so many wonderful childhood memories at our grandmothers home. 

The same excitement from our grandmothers is evoked when you walk through the front door at the Crepe Myrtles.  Just like our grandmothers, there is always something freshly baked and waiting for your arrival on the kitchen table.  

Monica and her daughter Rachel are wonderful hosts and Monica’s homemade pastries, cakes, biscuits, and homemade jellies are incredible and delicious.  

All three generations enjoyed the outdoor fire pit, enjoyed several games of ping pong at the barn, and several rounds of the ring toss. 

We really enjoyed our visit and really appreciated all the wonderful home baked treats.  

We felt so at home and are already planning another family visit to Monarc. 



We stayed at the Suite 1 Under the Pecans.  Quiet country life away from all noise.  Cumfy porch in the shade of the pecan trees.  A wooden deck just outside the bedroom made for a pleasant happy hour. 

Handicapped access makes the place very special.  We intend to be back. Plenty of wine tasting in the area. Forget about California, come to Texas, y"all.

My wife and I recently stayed at B & B on Monarch Ranch at one of the cabins called "Among the Texas Stars". We had a great weekend! When I booked the trip, I spoke with the owner, Monica.  She asked what what kind of breakfast we liked, what kinds of desserts we liked, etc.  She did not disappoint!  We arrived at the cabin on Friday to find homemade brownies, homemade biscuits with her home made grape jelly, and an awesome breakfast casserole.  Let me tell you, everything she made was delicious!  The property was so nice, we decided we weren't going to go out on the town the first night.  We went walking down to the banks of the Pedernales River, used the fire pit a little later, and cooked steaks at the cabin on Friday night! To end our wonderful Friday night, we sat in our private hot tub and checked out the stars in the sky. Let me tell you, the cabin is named appropriately! Looking up, we were "Among the Texas Stars"! It was awesome! Saturday we went into town, went to the local wineries, and went to Luckenbach.  We left out on Sunday, ending our anniversary weekend.  I highly recommend this place! The cabin was awesome, the food was awesome, and the property was awesome!  I can't say enough good things about the place! We will definitely will be back!

We stayed in this same cottage last year  (Among the Crepe Myrtles) and returned again-we have enjoyed it so much we'll likely make it a yearly retreat. It is a bit away from town but just perfect for privacy, R&R, beautiful sunsets, views of grazing cows, and gentle, friendly horses corralled right outside your door. I was extra happy with an affectionate resident kitten.  Monica provides delicious homemade breakfast treats in the cottage, along with a refrigerator stocked with eggs, milk butter, juices, dry cereals, as well as tea, coffee, hot cocoa, and even a box with s'more fixins.  The hot tub is gigantic and private on the back deck, with decorate tiny white lights to light the way. Christmas decorations were exceptional, with lights on timers.  We cooked in -- the kitchen is rustic but great for heating up takeout food or cooking pasta. Loved walking the long road in the morning and viewing many white-tailed deer. Because we were on an extensive road trip, we were even able to do laundry in this cottage that had a huge washer/dryer.   Looking forward to returning again next year!
