This is a family run, roadside motel. It’s across the street from target, and Heinen’s, A fairly upscale supermarket. There is a shopping centre with a number of different shops. I was happy with my stay. I’ll go there again if I have business in the neighbourhood.

Stayed here for 1 night and this will be my go-to haven in Lake Bluff in the future  -- my son and his family live in Lake Bluff - We got in several hours early and the manager let us check in early.  I'd call this an Art Deco room - not a 5 star but better.  Parking right outside the door - easy in , easy out.  About a mile from our son's home.  Cozy - frig and microwave - comfy beds.  When I come again I may bring my little coffee maker as none in room.  The manager was so very accomodating and such a reasonable price -- A real joy.

Cannot say enough good about how accommodating this family run motel was to a group of nine bicyclists. There was a little issue about the arrival date, but Bharat still found ALL of us great sleeping places in his motel & property. This motel is right off the bicycle path so very convenient for bicyclists. Definitely would spend the night again. Clean, quiet, & very helpful!! Several places nearby for food.

The Sunset Motel has a very helpful staff and is very clean. It's been in this area for years and I have no doubt it will remain here for a long time. The price was not bad either. There aren't too many hotels in the area but of all of them this one is the best. All in all an excellent place to stay if you find yourself in lake county.

Nice little motel. A bit dated but clean. WiFi was good. TV was good. Fairly close to the Navy base. I was there for my son's boot camp graduation. Looks and feels exactly like a five star hotel when you are asleep.

Friendly service,great TV, outdated rooms but clean and comfortable. I've stayed here a few times and noticed some rooms are better than others for cleanliness.

This was the closest place to the naval base I could get. I dragged my fiancée there after extricating her from her family. This probably makes me biased about the motel.

My son and I stayed here one night on our way to a football game in Indiana. 
It was definitely dated but was clean and the man who checked us in was very nice.  Free WiFi was available.   

There was no shampoo but there was soap. We had a small fridge and a microwave...no coffee.

We slept well. The room was a little musty but we opened a window for a while and also ran the A/C. 
I gave this place 4 stars but if you're used to more modern, chain hotels it would proabably be closer to a 3. 
If you're not super picky and need a quick, clean room..it's a good bet. 

We were in room 14. 

Close to Navy graduation. Was cheaper than others in the area. The room was outdated. It was clean and beds were comfortable. They didn't replace the towels daily. It's good if you just want a place to sleep. Did not look as nice as the picture.

Hidden gem in Lake Bluff

Great Place for Bicycle Travelers

One night stay 

Motel was clean and had cable tv, micro, & mini fridge. If you are just looking for an inexpensive place to sleep and shower with no frills or extra amenities then this is the place to go.  I was concerned prior to going that it was going to have bugs or be "unclean" or not safe, but it was just fine! management was nice too.
