Rented a room for proximately six weeks. The views are great the rooms are very modern only updated beautiful actually. Everything you need with exception. 
I had to constantly ask the owner through the Airbnb website only questions I had about long-term stay. About linens, towels, sheets about trashcan ( extra one sine very small) if the laundry cost me or not.   They answered the questions but I think I bothered them a lot since in the room there’s no information for long-term stays. 
Two pods of coffee and two rolls of toilet paper doesn’t exactly get me through 6 weeks while I’m here.   So I did have to go purchase the rest of the coffee and my own toilet paper paper towels etc. needed for long-term stay. 
 I had an incident with the homeless people and they kept knocking on the door and I was feeling unsafe for that night.   I did call the police but again I had to look up the phone number myself .  
 I notified the owners,  they were not willing to call the police or act concerned just sorry I had the experience,  But said it was my responsibility to notify the police and get them here. Then they gave me the phone number but after I already looked it up. 
I would highly recommend they post police and fire phone numbers if it’s not a 911 emergency along with information on long-term stays. They did provide free laundry for the sheets and towels . I did find a vacuum cleaner and mop in the laundry room so hope they Didnt mind but I used those two. 
It would be helpful to have that information in the rooms. Also to let me know what they provide and what they don’t provide would be helpful on the websites too . A little better prepared. Also a way to contact them without always having to go on the website if there’s problems but of course they have to care about the problem

Nice motel, bring your own supplies

I'm giving this a 3 because it is listed as a Route 66 historical motel. When I was there in April 2018, it was closed. Could be a gem but has been "going downhill" for a number of years. Great location on Route 66 and high enough elavation to give some view of the area. Would be good to see it when it's complete.

Closed for renovation (restoration?)

To enhance your road trip on Route 66...this motel is perfect...in the heat of the day, you have a direct view of the mountains, and the decoration of the rooms is such that you'll feel stuck in the 1970s... unbeatable price for a stage, with a charming welcome from the owner who welcomes you barefoot and torso.

Vintage hotel

We were beat from a long days riding from Death Valley and 100•F temps and found the Hill Top on-line.  It is a dated hotel, a symbol of days gone by.  The manager was very nice and the room was OK.  I call it dated because my parent's house had the same shower controls.  We were sitting on the porch taking in the evening air when we looked down and sat a small Gila monster going after some insects in a small shrub bed about 5 feet away.  While I enjoy nature as much as the next guy, this thing moved pretty quickly so we felt obliged to move indoors.  The price was excellent but the very best part was the very cool neon sign and smaller sign announcing Zenith color TVs in the rooms which must have been a big draw in 1964.  Still, it's on Route 66 and that makes it all worthwhile

The only reason it got one star is because I had to choose... left to me it would get zero.  The pics on the site a far from actual.  It was like stepping into the twilight zone.  Carpets were filthy..papers everywhere and it needed a big trash bag... and that was just the office.  The rooms were poorly lit, carpets inside were filthy.  Mattress was hard as a board..  First instinct I had was to check for bed bugs.  Didn't see any so that's a plus.  The TV was old, the lighting in the sleeping area was a bare bulb hanging from a chain.  The neighbor HAD to be a drug dealer as we heard nothing but in and out and talking all night.  Hubby was lucky, he had ear plugs.  The parking lot was very ran down and unsafe to ride in with all the potholes and loose gravel it was a surprise we didn't dump our motorcycles.  All in all - we needed a place to sleep and shower.  If that's what you need then get at it..  Otherwise, go down a block - it will money well spent.

Never again!

The room was $52 a night and not worth it. Ancient carpeting was soiled and smelly. The room reeked of smoke. Ice machine was not working, no response from the office even when I rang the bell 3 times. The owner, Dennis, was very nice and his dog gave us a wonderful greeting. Old fashioned room keys for the door. That sweet dog was the best part of our whole one night stay :-)

Disappointed

No frills to be expected here, but lots of nostalgia for those who wish you were on the open road in 1967. Rooms are dated, but cleaned - showers were hot, but not strong.  Air Conditioning, TV and Wifi worked well. We just needed a bed for the night and this suited us just fine.

If you're looking for authentic this address might suit you, ideal for a step on Route 66. Comfort will be very brief, bed, shower, air conditioning, a small refrigerator and a TV (forget the HD TVs are 35 years old).

In its juice

We chose this motel for the affordable price found on the Internet. When we arrived at the place, without booking, we found no one to welcome us to the reception. After ringing the bell and waiting 10 minutes, a naked-chested gentleman comes with the appearance of disconnectedness. Excluding this first impact the room is cozy with all the comforts (microwave and refrigerator). Door and carpet would be changed, but all in all it is not bad given the price of 53 euros (three people, one night).

Unfortunately, it was only a couple of points with the eye-to-eye press and just because it was really very cheap. It was totally crowded and old. The only new thing was the air conditioning and this included wifi went smoothly. It was actually clean, except for a pillow, the beds were very large and the bathroom was okay. But the shower was really exciting. The whole room smelled old and bold, even in the bathroom. That's really uncomfortable. The top crown was, however, that our room was apparently left in place, because at about 2 o'clock in the night our door was ripped, knocked and screamed wildly. The old owner came in and the other guest was very excited (but I think you've noticed).
