I've been here several times and I never had a problem they've always been polite 9 I've never had a problem with this place I will come back and keep coming back in fact me and my wife use come here all the time just to get away

First let me say that this hotel was a newer Palace Inn at 6658 Gulf Freeway in Houston. 

We checked in to this "hotel" for a three night stay.  Our check in was early in the morning on a Friday. We didn't get to sleep until after daylight,  while my fiancé was sleeping and not feeling well, I told housekeeping that we wished not to have housekeeping services on this day. One of the staff contacted me and told me that hotel policy stated that we had to have housekeeping service, as this was hotel policy. I told him I absolutely did not want room service, because my fiancé was ill and wanted to sleep. Apparently that didn't matter to them. They called the room and woke her and then sent housekeeping anyway. 

That same Friday evening, after we woke, we ordered some pizza for delivery, and my finances lady friend came to visit us and share some of our dinner. Very shortly thereafter, the desk staff called and told us they had a very strict no visitor policy, and that my finances friend would have to leave. 

I went to the front desk to ask about this. Needless to say I was already unhappy with the policies of this hotel. My fiancé was at the desk just prior to me, and she came away crying. The desk clerk said he had nothing to do with that, and that it is posted on the wall about the no visitor policy. I told him he should have guests sign a form as to this policy, or at least tell them about it in case they don't happen to notice the sign. My fiancé asked him about that and he said that they don't provide notice other than the sign. I then asked him if this hotel has hourly rates, and he said they do. Well folks, I guess that statement right there explains a lot. I can only guess that they assumed my finances friend was a call girl. 

Being a stage IV cancer patient who tries to live as drama and stress free as possible, I was sorely disappointed in the actions and policies of this facility, and felt more that I was in a detention center of some kind and being scolded for their ridiculous policies. I did tell them that I was about to post this on tripadvisor, and I will also post this on other hotel review sites. 

If you want a nice comfortable, hassle free stay, choose something besides Palace Inns. Other than spending this time with my fiancé, I had a miserable stay at this hotel. I only wish it would let me post zero stars. 

OMG STAY AWAY!!!

I requested a room with handicapped facilities, how was I meant to get into the bath to shower. There were no close-by food outlets, there was no in room guide or telephone directory. The phone did not have the number to call the front desk, and when I found that number, nobody answered. So no wi-fi, no food for the night.  Room came with breakfast included, there was a tiny room with 3 chairs and no food of any substance to eat for breakfast. All I can say is "don't bother staying here". At least the room was clean!!
