Plainview Motel & RV Park

Coos bay is a favorite for me when riding through oregon. Lots of rides to go on. Coos bay is a fun town. The plainview is clean, cozy and a great place for motorcycles.  Will stay again.

Beds are comfortable, we stay here once a year.

The outside of the property had us a little worried but when we saw the inside of our room it was excellent!!  New and clean and layed out well!  We would definitely stay here again!

Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable for a tourist from out of state

Modest motel on main road near geeat veaches and state parks. Marine murals paunted on motel were a bit weird but very cool. Room was completely re.odel and spotlessly clean!  Had all important amenities, including cable tv and small kitchen. Great value near gorgeous state parks and ocean. Would stay again.

Friendly helpful front office staff. Pleasantly surprised by the unit! Clean, well appointed, full kitchen.

Perfect for 2 nights at the coast. Loved having a kitchen for breakfast. Sorry we set off the smoke alarm cooking bacon. Comfortable and convenient to all the activities we came for.

Stayed at the upstairs condo for a night and it was so cozy! Fire place with pizza and a puzzle. The view of the water was amazing and the sounds made sleeping a dream. The apartment was very clean and had everything you would need in a home. We will definitely be back.

Very clean room, quiet and felt safe. No AC but lucky your on the Bay so sleeping with window open  it was fine. RV property  not the best, however felt separate from the RV area. No long curtin in the kitchen area, just short panels. But hung a towel and it did the job  for privacy.  Biggest thing was quiet and felt safe while we stayed.

They still use real keys for your door! Straight out of the 1990's. Slide door lock inside with deadbolt. It's old, and they have done the best they could to update with paint and decent appliances. Great murals on outside.  Bed mattress was old and saggy. Blankets old and thin. Room was clean, though the toilet smells. Tiny shower only. Let's leave it at you get what you paid for. I needed a simple, cheap place to stay the night. That's exactly what I got.

I didn't have high expectations when I booked our stay. The motel is quite worn and run down, but very clean. The  lady at the front desk was very helpful, too! There are little oddities in the room.... but that makes for an interesting stay. It is a low budget motel. Interesting and adequate for a brief stay. No frills!

We stayed in the 1 bedroom cabin.  We liked that the property was a short drive to some of the areas we wanted to visit.  Our room looked recently updated and included a full kitchen and a table just outside the front door and our own parking spot .  Having been on the road for awhile the laundry facilities were very convenient.  Mistie provided several restaurant recommendations which worked out great for us.  There was no AC, but temperatures were moderate so it wasn't a big deal.  Having some standing fans would have helped, but overall I would stay again.

Pleasant

Interesting location.  The rv park which is connected to the hotel is more like a trailer park for permanent residents and looked pretty rundown which I think is where some of the bad reviews come from.  Motel itself is very nice and updated and clean inside. Lady in office was very helpful and friendly.  Fun trail to the beach across the street.  Kids loved finding small crabs & jellyfish.  We had very 4 flat pillows in our room for 4 people and they said no extra when I asked the front desk.  Everything else was great.

Traveled with two college-aged daughters.   We had Room B at the back of the property.  Pluses were: kitchenette was very useful, quiet and clean room, very dark for good sleep and room temp was solid. Things that could be improved: couch was broken, funky set-up for ceiling fan and center light...iykyk.  My girls slept on two separate beds that were located in the living room.  A little strange but alright.  This place is solid.  Nothing fancy but will serve you well if you are simply looking for a "base".  Try Shark Bites in downtown Coos Bay and head over to Millers at the Cove for excellent clam chowder and the best (original) rajun cajun crab soup.  You will not be sorry!

Every time I return I look forward to my next visit.  This time I went clamming, they provided all of the gear needed.

Across the street is a secret path to a beautiful almost private beach. I sat there trading a book and enjoyed the sunset

Quirky but so much fun😊

The motel is very cute with all of the buildings painted with ocean related murals. The rooms are nice with a small kitchenette.  The beds were just ok, comfortable enough to sleep. However, the walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors every move. There is no ocean/bay view. You can hear the traffic since you are only about 50 feet away from the 2 lane coastal highway. Traffic was much lighter after 10 pm. I didn't hear any cars until 5 or 6 am. That was on a Friday morning. Overall it was a good place to stay, and I would visit again. We had 2 queen beds, and paid $125 for 1 night.

I had a comfortable lodging. Well-equipped kitchen except that there were no pans that could go in the oven. CAUTION: At check-in I had to sign an agreement that there would be no refunds for any reason. If I had gotten Covid and had to leave partway through the week, I would have been out a lot of money.
