If you are looking for the absolute most convenient, affordable, hassle free stop over in Ollantaytambo, El Bosque Backpackers offers a more than ideal setting. A minute's walk from the Train Station, El Bosque afforded my group and I the luxury of catching the first train out of Ollantaytambo the morning of our journey to Aguas Caliente sans-anxiety or strain. With a cozy bed room layout, a beautiful garden at the Urubamba River's edge and a most welcoming staff, our 17 hour stay felt like one that seemed so much longer. The three wheeled mototaxis are easily available just outside the hostel's front door which would take you to the Ollantaytambo Archaeological Park, the Main Square or any part of this historic place. Otherwise, the walk to and from is a pretty short one as is expected in this small, charming, old Andean town. El Bosque's proximity to the train station gives its guests the best access to the neighbouring Train Station market area where last minute goodies can be purchased before or after the train ride.
