Pakari

Pakari is the name of the hostel and also the name of the owner. It is in a really good location, about 5 minutes up the hill from Plaza des Armas. The building is very higgeldy-piggeldy, with very narrow stairs and corridoors, but it is very charming. There are 2 dorm rooms. One has a bathroom attached, the other doesn't, but there are bathrooms downstairs. The showers were ALMOST hot. The beds had lots of blankets to keep you warm on the cold nights and the mattresses were comfy. Pakari also has a lovely dog called Leo, who will give you cuddles to keep you warm! There is Wifi in the hostel and a computer. The internet access was really good. Pakari and his brother Alex work together in the hostel and they were both really helpful, always making sure that we were OK. Pakari organised our Machu Picchu trip for us as well. He seemed a bit disorganised, but everything turned out brilliantly in the end. The only negative point about the hostel was lack of communal areas and the kitchen, which wasn't kept very clean. It didn't seem that people cleaned up after themselves much. Asides from that, it was fantastic!
