Decided to stay at Huanchaco Inn at the last minute with another couple. We booked two rooms are a very good rate and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Only one block from the beach and very goof WiFi. Highly recommend it!

We ended up here in the middle of the night from the 30th to 31st of december. The hospedaje we booked was closed and our taxidriver drove us passed a few places where the answer was "no" every single time. 

Here they welcomed us with open arms and tranquilo state of mind! 
They didn't overcharge like everyone else. 
We were invited to join the newyears celebration with dinner and drinks if we wanted. On the first of january we could move to a bigger room with balcony for free. 

Beds are good, WiFi too. 
One minute away from the beach. 
Could use a minor fresh up but that's irrelevant with such nice people and place!

Never have I felt more welcome. 

We stayed here for just over a week in a room with a balcony, ensuite and double bed. There is hot water, TV and guests have access to the kitchen and a swimming pool. 

Few points, as far as western standards go, the communal areas are kept clean - though an allowance needs to be made for the current renovations taking place on the ground floor. The bedrooms and bathrooms could really do with a deep scrub however to remove the soap scum and build-up which would make the rooms just that bit more comfortable. 

Otherwise the service was great and the Owner and his son were very welcoming. Also, if you're staying for longer than a few nights you can negotiate a cheaper room rate.

Nice one night stay

please do not stay here this hostel is incredibly unsafe, dirty and unfriendly. We repeatedly had to ask the only two staff members (who were 90 years or older) to get clean sheets after the people before us had checked out, there was a large knife and opened and old food in our room. There was no useable pool, the kitchen was revolting and unusable. Two of our phones were also stolen from the rooms so we can only presume by other staff members.

DO NOT STAY HERE

Kitchen was FILTHY and included cockroaches. So bad we couldn't even cook in it. Rooms are tired and old. Our pillows smelt of mould. No toilet paper in the room and we had to ask for it and wait a while until they brought some up. No light in stairwell. No water in pool. Staff seem very indifferent to us being there, not helpful at all.

Unclean, tired old, unfriendly staff.

Ok rooms with en suite. Staff alright but not always around. Bit rundown and staff were noisy. Otherwise ok place to stay a night. No hot water at all our whole stay.  Overpriced for quality of room but clean enough. Near the beach and restaurants. Kitchen was not appealig to use despite the offer.

Location is about three blocks from water, not as close as I would have liked. Balcony has a view of mousy street, thank goodness for a 9pm curfew.
