Encounter Mara Camp | Asilia Africa

I can’t recommend this camp enough! They deserve all the stars! Our planes were late arriving, and the team was there to get us-no problem! When we arrived at camp, we were greeted with a warm Jambo , and were immediately made welcome. Betty met us at the main gathering tent to walk us through camp life, which was much appreciated. We were escorted to our tent, which was extremely clean, comfortable and well appointed. After settling in we met at the main area and got to chat with Mercy. We just love her! She was so warm, kind and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed her. We had dinner with several other guests and were spoiled with a fantastic display of Maasai song and dance. We were treated to a bit of Maasai tradition, and it was wonderful. All of the staff treated us like family. Everyone listened and anticipated our needs~they were truly extraordinary. We were also so impressed by how clean and comfortable the camp is. We felt safe and comfortable throughout our stay. Meals were so good that we are still talking about them,and I hope to learn to cook some of the dishes. The kitchen crew are very talented, and we loved everything they made. Most especially, we loved our picnic breakfasts out on morning safari with our guide, Emmanuel. Emmanuel is EXTRAORDINARY. His knowledge of the wildlife and terrain exceeded every expectation we had. He was able to get us the best places to see the animals and he gave us a truly life changing experience. We also had opportunities to talk with him and learn about Maasai culture and life in the villages nearby We could never thank him enough. So much so that I got teary saying goodbye. How many people can you say that after 4 days? Because of him, we are already planning a trip back, and we will 100% request him. I highly recommend that you do, too. You won’t regret it, and he just may change your life, too.
