Fabulous service, nice spacious clean rooms, mini wine fridges are very handy! Great wine tasting option. Everything what needed for a good night sleep. The place look like , you just have travelled to Tuscany! Definitely will be back! Forever grateful and thank you for eveything!

We booked a night’s stay at this wine cellar and it was so good. The room was furnished to a high standard and the staff were really helpful. We did some wine tasting with them which rather than the standard 45 mins and 3 wines turned into a couple of hours and probably 6 wines. You get to visit the cellars and learn about the wine region. Highly recommend this place! 

The whole building including the wineshop, rooms, winery is fully renovated, the garden is also nice. The rooms are fine. But the main attraction is the wine and the hospitality, that is both on the maximum. It is a great base for exploring the Tokaj wine region.

Demetervin owns a winery and a beautiful hotel at the same time. Everything is brand new and the rooms are well equipped and very modern. 
Don't look for movie channel or installed speakers, but do look for mini wine cellar installed in the room and spacious comfortable room with special vineyard designed bathroom doors.

Far away from noise and distraction, you find the Demetervin Winery and Guesthouse, nestled in the tiny village of Mad. This little shop and inn provides more than just a silent night's sleep. They also have the most phenomenal wine tasting at their establishment! Make sure to request the room with a Jacuzzi - it's fantastic!

After a long  HOT drive we were not happy to arrive to a mixup at the front desk....Having reserved 2 doubles some time ago we were surprised that there appeared to be a problem...After being offered and refusing a non-air conditioned triple , 2 doubles  were found for us.. Part of the problem is that some reviews (including Booking.com) claim that there are air conditioned rooms.. In fact, the newer ones evidently have some kind of cooling element in the walls... This being an unusually hot summer these don't exactly  offer up the artic blast one would hope for from a real A/C on a blistering day..To be fair the hotel does NOT offer air conditioned rooms on its website once I looked carefully  so one wonders where these reviewers came up up with their information. So, my bad I guess.....Anyway, the owner, clearly doing her best,  opened up a bottle of their excellent sparkling wine and order to the universe was restored. The upstairs rooms follow the contours of the roof so the pillow side of the bed   is quite close to the sloping ceiling.  We  bumped our heads several times before getting the hang of it.. Others might not be thrilled with the glass doors and walls of the bathroom though it was  spacious and new.  Breakfast is served at another hotel across the street.  On Saturday the buffet was much better when the hotel  had a big weeend  crowd.  Ask them to make you a real coffee , much better than the premade stuff. On our last day we  were given a short tour of the cellars by the desk clerk and were offered  a couple of glasses of wine to try.  At the  moment there is some constuction going on as it looks like they are adding on rooms. Walk past it to the " old house" and enjoy a bottle in the shade at the stone table, very pretty .... So the pros : Good wifi,in our case a comfortable bed ,pet friendly  and a nice enough staff.  A big bonus is that  the excellent  Percze restaurant is only a 5 minute walk  as well...Cons: Rooms overpriced as they don't offer real A.C nor a T.V...The glass bathroom might also freak out those wanting a bit more privacy .The sloping ceiling means watching out for your head....I would also recommend a sensor light at the stair leading to the bathroom.. Given the very small window it is pitch dark a night and one could easily trip getting up  for a pee.. Best turn on the light as irritating as that might be for your partner.....

Tuscan style guest house in the heart of Tokaj

You can stay in the newly refurbished but very basic smaller rooms with air conditioning or there are large country-style apartments available. If you have the option, I recommend to go for these. They are nicely decorated with antique furniture, have no air conditioning but they never need one. Everything was clean, staff was helpful: there was some problem with the toilet flushing and hot water furnace but these were minor issues and the caretaker came quickly to fix them. No breakfast option, (you can fix a tea or take a flask of vine), but foodstore is in walking distance. Nice calm town with streets to walk, taste some wine, but not much else to do.
