We have just returned home from our second holiday at Balatonfured. Overall, we had a good holiday at Fured!

We have stayed in a Eurocomfort mobilehome. This type is just a few years old, and they are very nice. The style is modern, well equipted kitchen, large terrace, and lots of cabinets and storage space. It was also very clean at arrival, with towels and bedlinnen included. The only negative experience regarding accommodation, was that we had no cleaning, or fresh towels/linnen in our stay of 11 nights.

The camp site, is a bit outdated, but nice and cosy. The lake and beach is very nice, and the small pool area is okay, but there are not enough sunbeds or chairs at all.
Scandinavians are used to free Wifi at hotels and holiday resorts, so making customers pay for wifi, that doesn't cover the area very well is not good enough in 2017. 

Most shops and restaurants at the camping, are nice, with friendly staff, and good food. The prices are a bit higher than if you go out of the area. The only place I really dont understand is allowed to be open, is the "gameroom". Half of the machines are not working, the rest is old and outdated. The place smells bad, and furnitures and floor is falling apart. Really not worth the visit. You should require a certain standard from all your "partners" at the camping!

Overall a nice stay, and we will probably be back next year :) But no doubt, people choose this place because Hungarian prices are low, compared to more expensive places in Italy or Croatia. But in the end you get what you pay for, and that is a "good enough" vacation, not more or less.



Very nice mobilehomes

Stayed in a caravan. Not a bad price for August but incredibly basic and dirty. Very poor. Overall service at the camp was not good either. Nice holiday but much to improve.  The lake was nice and warm, although 4 of our group got stomach bugs! Location pretty good and very convenient for supermarkets, but generally, very basic. 

Too basic

We stayed here and the facilities are disgusting the showers are moody dirty and not cleaned to any sort of standard the pitches are very cramped and just mud or dirty the place is packed out and very busy pitches are cramped and the whole place is tacky and noisy we stayed a night and moved on. The water in the lake is warm and there are lots of shops selling tat and a couple of poor slides. 

One of the worst campsites we have stayed at

We stayed in Balatontourist Camp in Balatonfured in our tent for 1 week. I truly discourage from going there.

The pros: Pretty much everybody speaks English or German there. The beach is quite nice and maintained. The toboggan/slide is for free. There's enough grass to lie on.

The cons: Truly outdated and dirty bathrooms and toilets. The kitchen area is too far away from some pitches. Both my son and my husband got bowel infection which caused us real worries in the scorching hot weather. Later on, we found out some other people got that also, and those who we were never in contact with. Obviously, the germs/viruses spread over the shared and poorly cleaned bathroom facilities. 

To sum up, this is a massively visited camp which creates a considerable revenue every day. I just don't get it why it hasn't been invested in for more than 20 years and why the sanitation/cleaning isn't done properly.
