Lion Hotel

This place felt like home. We had room 61 for 2 nights for our first time in Athens and we felt like we were at home. It is about 2 - 3 blocks an easy quiet walk through a residential area from the airport bus (X95) drop-off point. The young many at the front desk was very helpful with directions, maps, and tips. We arrived late around midnight and felt totally safe walking through the neighborhood, and throughout our stay. We loved the apartment suite like feel, adorable very functional kitchen, great city overlook, quiet, comfortable beds, and it just felt like home. It has a super cute adorable little elevator. You need patience with the WiFi but seriously you are not going to Greece to check your Social media status, but for the amazing history, culture, people, and of course the wonderful food! Speaking of food, make sure to tell the front desk before 22:00 your breakfast requests for a killer boxed breakfast in the morning. One of the most amazing breakfasts I have had we could have stayed in the room all morning savoring it. About a block from the airport bus drop there is a major Metro "M" Evangelismos station with easy access to Syntagma Square that will get you anywhere you need to go in Athens. Besides easy access to the M, about 2 - 3 blocks from the hotel there is a cute grocery store for a great local experience. We felt like it was a great way to ease into Athens in a quiet residential community, a comfortable, felt like home setting, and very friendly staff. When you leave for the day drop off your room key and pick it up when you get back.
