We loved the lodge, but you need to know it is not for everyone. The rooms are inexpensive, because you are out of the way and this is not a five star hotel. But if you are looking for a real Tico experience, with folks that want to make you happy and are happy you are there, this is the place. The food was great, especially the fruit at breakfast and the great evening meal we shared. It was rainy and cold when we were there, and it made it more difficult as there is no heat. But isn't that why you go to CR, to experience the place. If we go back, we will stay here again. One note, you do need your own transportation but it is great to get away from the crowds in Santa Elena and Monteverde.
