I stayed here for 2 months whilst volunteering in the area. For a very reasonable price I got a spacious private room and access to a shared kitchen and bathroom. Everything was clean and well maintained. Maio and his family are very kind and helpful, always happy to help answer any questions and its really nice to be involved with such a kind and friendly family. Plus there was access to delicious bread from the bakery and the opportunity to rent a bike. It is about a 40 minute cycle/$10 taxi ride from Puerto Viejo so not ideal of you're looking to do a lot of partying or want to spend a lot of time in town. But its equidistant from beautiful punta uva and playa Chiquita and a short ride from the Jaguar rescue centre, ara project and manzanillo. I really enjoyed my time here - thank you!
