Before becoming too old I wanted to visit the city of Cali in Colombia and his "Feria". First of all I should say that Colombia is a VERY SAFE PLACE, and Cali is a wonderful town, with its warm and happy people. I slept in a hostel called "Hostal Casa Cristales", only made of private rooms. The place is a wonderful villa with swimming pool in a quite and nice area next to city centre ("La Quinta Avenida"). The owner and manager, Gilma is a very kind person, whilst Nora is serving the breakfast made of tropical fruit and other delicious food. Prices are very small but on the other hand the "hostal" and its "gente" are wonderful.. <3

All Colombian citizens, regardless of the length of their stay, and all foreigners who stay in the country for at least 60 consecutive days, are required to pay a national sales tax (19%) on their accommodation during their stay. Foreign citizens with a tourist visa are exempt from paying this tax. If the person subject to tax and another person exempt from tax share the same room, the rate may be applied to the entire room.
