I stayed at the hostel together with a friend for our first week in Colombia and it really surpassed my expectations. I have travelled for about year staying at hostels around the world and this is without a doubt one of the very best ones (if not the best..). The first reason making this place the perfect place is the hosts. The girls running the place are really lovely and they went out of their way to make the guests happy. When me and my friend left the hostel before the normal breakfast time (we were in bogota for work and had to be leave the hostel super early) they woke up hours earlier to make sure breakfast would be ready before we would leave the hostel (without us even asking them for it). The hostel has a great atmosphere for meeting other travelers with a bar, a outdoors area downstairs, really nice kitchen, huge coach with tv and netflix, and two rooftop areas. The area the hostel is located in is perfect, it is very calm at night and much safer than many other places of Bogota. Most tourist locations are within walking reach and there are both public transport and taxis available close by. I really liked my stay at washuwashu and will no doubt come back as soon as I am in Bogota again.

All Colombian citizens, regardless of the length of their stay, and all foreigners who stay in the country for at least 60 consecutive days, are required to pay a national sales tax (19%) on their accommodation during their stay. Foreign citizens with a tourist visa are exempt from paying this tax. If the person subject to tax and another person exempt from tax share the same room, the rate may be applied to the entire room.
