The Kensington Studios

Please do not let anyone tell you this hotel is any less than wonderful. Our room was a sprawling apartment with four large windows that we opened to watch traffic go by every morning. We felt overwhelmingly happy as we slipped on our (included) slippers over the beautiful wood floor. The safe always felt strong and secure. The bathroom was clean and incredibly modern. The shower was toasty as was the heat in the room. We loved that the tv was on a movable mount so we could angle it over our beds. The pillows were fluffy (we are particular about our pillows) and the linens were very clean. We loved having a little kitchen which we filled with treats that we bought in town. The location was very safe and almost magical at night. I loved this hotel! The only downsides (and they're truly minor) are: the tube that goes to the city center and almost all big attractions is Shepards Bush which is about a 15 minute walk away which doesn't sound like much, but walking many miles a day wears on you in 30 degree weather. There is a bus right outside if you would rather hop that to the station but that was a hassle for us on our very limited schedule. The other issue (which made us laugh to tears) was the stupid hair dryer. I don't know if its an energy saver thing or what but it always died about 3 minutes into drying our hair so we would have to dry - kill time - dry - kill time. Again, all minor, but still there. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to ANYONE looking to stay in London and that says a lot. I'm picky :)
