We loved our stay here! I came to leave a review specifically to praise the amazing Babu for being the absolute best city guide we’ve ever met. We were 2 women traveling alone with very limited time in Varanasi so getting as much sight seeing in as possible was very important to us. Babu guided us seamlessly through the beautiful Holy City, sharing stories about its people and history, all the while making us feel incredibly safe the entire time. (People in the city were very friendly in general however he made sure none of the men were too forward with us which was much appreciated). Everything from delicious food recommendations, historical sites, shopping, & even a private sunrise boat ride up the Ganges was scheduled and carried out by Babu himself at a very fair rate. Once we left the city he even went through the trouble of connecting us with other trustworthy guides in the other cities we visited. Truly top shelf customer service. We cannot recommend this place enough & we will be returning in the future! 

Amazing city guide & guesthouse

Very durty place, which trow back side off house dustbin in Holi river Assi! Need apply in Government about this , and make more video and photo.Owner of this Guest house , live in Holy city and like pig trow mach more dustbin and plastic

The om rest house has an excellent service, they made me feel like I’m home, very near to the ganges, walking distance to all the ceremonies and interesting sights of Varanasi, also a great price, I woulf definitely come back

Great service

I came back here a second time and I liked it less. I settled down in the rooms downstairs, the electricity wasn't working, the rooms on the first floor for 300 rupees were creamy and dark. The rooms had beds and shelves built into the walls. The look was depressing. The less pleasant rooms upstairs cost from 400 to 800 rupees. The internet didn't work last year, and it doesn't work in this. One plus: a nice restaurant manager and a nice hotel room.

We love to stay here again, we enjoyed our stay here we stayed here in the month of February 2016. it was nice like home. all the basic requirements are fulfilled. we enjoyed home made food the most. we recommend this place to stay.

"Great place homely atmosphere to Stay"

I stayed there for 3 days during Dusshera and i must say there nothing like which is mentioned here in reviews.
there is no lawn but a over grown grasses and poorly maintained bunch of trees.
two shouting kids all day long
rooms at first floor are tiny and dirty.
There is no Wi-Fi(Atleast when i visited)
in 500 per day i must say this is a bad deal.Though Mr.Pandey (the owner) id nice and caring person but not professional.
There is no restaurant so remember always to carry food with you.
roof again is too dirty.The only good part is that owner are helplessly helpful.

Badly maintained Guest House

It's a safe and secure place: lots of tourists from Europe. There are rooms for 150 rupees and for 200 and 350 and 400 different amenities. It's a clean place, a pleasant location: living in hotels, you're isolated from the noise, hustle and unwanted attention of the locals, in the inner courtyard there's a terrace with a small garden and restaurant by the hotel.

A good budget spot

We love the sunny patio with a very relaxed energy. Food great and staff could not be more helpful. The location is also close the the river and offers easy access to ghats . Room comfortable with good beds. 

Great place to stay with most helpful staff ever

If you are looking for a budget hotel room this is a good place to stay. We booked Deluxe non ac room for 9 days. The owner of Om Guest House Mr. Shiv is very helpful and we did not face any kind of problem with him. Om guest house is like around  4-6mins walk from Assi ghat. The rooms are well maintained for the price and i would say worth the money. If you really like long walks then i would prefer to take hotel on Assi ghat as Assi ghat is the last ghat, you can walk all the way to the first ghat and come back. There is electricity problem in Varanasi, these guys run generator but your fan and heavy electrical products wont run on full power.  Not to forget you get FREE WI-FI. 

PS: Summer are too hot!! If you are a person who is coming from colder region, pack your weather in your bag or wait till the rainy season ends. If you are going to stay for long then go for huge mineral water bottles which can be refilled, you can ask any near by grocery store or call on the given number to the supplier. If you need any more help feel free to buzz me.

Worth your money.

The rooms are large, there was no hot water (though not needed), no towel or soap (though the price is normal) and the prices are very negotiable. The cleaning of the sheets or bathroom is best not to mention, let's say that it is standard for a cheapest house. Upstairs there is a terrace with a couple of chairs, but there is no restaurant. If you see the Ganges from the terrace. The ghuest house is focused on Koreans, and even the visiting card as long as it's in the bank. I wanted to have every incident of mobile theft, the police came to the ghuest house and the tourist owner helped me to write a complaint to the police.
