Oaza Inn

Lovely Inn just outside the centre of Ohrid but well worth the half hour walk or cheap taxi ride into the Old Town.  Made very welcome by our hosts and very happy with accommodation. The gardens with pond and river bank are lovingly kept, the pool area is very clean and well maintained and the whole area is very peaceful.  Our breakfast was similar every morning but everything fresh and tasty.  There is an honesty bar which you pay at the end of your stay, and a lovely patio area to socialise should you wish.I would definitely travel to this area again and have no hesitation in recommending Oaza Inn to stay.

As previously mentioned, rooms are very functional and ours was spacious with a shared balcony which was not an issue. The grounds are lovely, very green and calming with a great pool-  fantastic when you’ve been exploring and want peace and quiet. 
Hosts are great and make you feel very welcome and everything has been thought of to make your stay comfortable- bikes, pads for the sunbeds, phone to ring for taxi if needed. 
We enjoyed our stay and will be back if we return to Ohrid

Well maintained, clean,friendly in a great location for the town. Rooms are basic but spotless.Food is freshly prepared every day and drinks are available from a fridge in the restaurant as the hotel uses a honesty policy. Bike hire is extremely cheap and the bikes are very well maintained.
The owners are so helpful and always on hand for anything.

Set just outside of main town of Orhid the Inn is set in lovely gardens and owned by Blago and Jadranka who are exactly the right type of hosts to stay with.Always ready with information when required but very unobtrusive and respectful of their guests desire for rest and relaxation. 
It is about 30 minutes walking into town centre, we walked in and in evening took a taxi back.Taxi cost 300denar but agree price as they do try and ask for more.
Breakfast is a buffet, limited choice but all freshly made ,did hear a few moans about lack of choice but always from English quest who obviously hadn't done their research properly before booking.
The inns dogs are very friendly and quite entertaining.


If you have recent experience of so called 4/5 star all inclusive holidays in countries like Turkey, a stay at the Oaza Inn may feel initially like a step back in time. However, whilst it could definitely benefit from some updating, that may risk losing some of the undoubted charm and character of the Oaza Inn, run by the amazing hosts Blago and his wife Jadranka who could not be more helpful. Ochrid lake and town (the jewel of North Macedonia) are a 25 minute walk away but you can take a taxi for around 3 pounds or use one of the Oaza's city bikes which will cost you 5 euros for your whole stay! Our room was a good size with a balcony and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was good and varied (but don't expect a full English!). The pool is superbly maintained, and although quite small, certainly big enough for the relatively small number of guests. In Ochrid town itself on the banks of the lake has a wide range of shops and affordable restaurants and bars serving good food. Ochrid lake is very clean, fed by underground springs, great for swimming and a boat trip is a must. Lots to see and do in and around the town, plenty of trekking or biking trails close by. Could not fault a really enjoyable week at the Oaza Inn or Ochrid for a great lakeside holiday.


A wonderful oasis of calm away from the centre but close enough to walk in if you want to or you can hire a bike from the property for 5 euros for the length of your stay.
Breakfast on the patio, beautiful gardens and pool, lovely hospitality which gave the feeling of home from home. Lovely views of the mountains, no mosquitos, the water is also drinkable. This is a choice which leaves an impression on the heart, the property needs a little maintenance in areas but still we loved it!!!!

Small friendly family run hotel with an authentic vibe.The owners are the nicest people who care about their guests and take great pride in making sure guests have the best time. Set on the outskirts it’s just a five  minute ride to town or a twenty minute walk. Bikes can be hired too. The breakfast is continental and fresh every morning. The grounds are well kept and the pool is lovely and clean. Different size rooms with air conditioning in most.Comfy beds and very clean.
Remember that the standards here are not up to the usual standards in the EU so go with an open mind.
 A Fabulous stay , very welcoming. Will definitely be back

First time in north Macedonia with tui.
The Inn was excellent value for money ran by Jadranke and  Blago.
The board was bed and breakfast which offered hot and cold buffet style food which was good and varied. Drinks available all day by   self service. The breakfast could be eaten in or outside so very pleasant in the morni g sunshine
We stayed in   a spacious self contained ground floor chalet with kitchenette and outside a patio with seating. Beautiful gardens in about 2 acres including  swimming pools pond.  The villa was very clean and well run. 
We had an excellent week in ohrid and a big thank you to our hosts for making it so special. 

Oaza Inn was a great experience !
Blago and Jadranke and the other people working there are very very nice people !
Interaction is awesome between all of them and tourists .
Breakfast is very well !
The grounds are good too, the swimming pool a nice treat !

When we arrived the surroundings look quite grim but once inside the gates it was fine. Lovely big gardens & nice to sit out at night with a drink.
The walk into town (about 30 mins) is not an issue for most people but wish it was a more pleasant area to walk through. 
Breakfast was great for us but we heard others say they wished there was a toaster.
Personally we would not stay here again because of distance from town, we prefer to stay just outside the centre but it is a pleasant place with lovely helpful owners.

Enjoyed our stay

We loved our stay at the oaza inn. The grounds and pool are lovely although I feel they have got room for more sun beds as we had to sit in chairs on occasion. The owners and staff are all friendly and helpful. The room was quite adequate with a lovely balcony and an airer was provided to dry clothes towels etc.They was a continental breakfast every morning with a good variety of food for our tastes .  It is a 30min walk to  town but we did it every day and walked back. We got a taxi  back every evening and it was 300 dinar .Some  will try to charge more just move along and try next one. We found the taxis along the main road into the town were more likely to take you further in town they weren’t as keen . If you need a cash machine walk to petrol station and go across main road once across turn right as you walk down    the residential road. You will come across 2 supermarkets and there is a cash machine there.( ones in town can have high charges)  If you turn left after supermarkets you will reach the beach . We paid 300 again for  sun beds and parasol all day. If you walk to end of beach there is a path to take you to castle .  We would def recommend oaza

Well worth every penny

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, albeit first impressions weren't very favourable. The area the van dropped us was a bit ramshackle and we approached with trepidation! However, once inside the gates our hopes rose. Warmly greeted by the host, personally shown to our top floor room followed by a piece of home made cake and some drinks. A great start! 

Our room itself was large with a shared balcony, which worried us a bit but luckily for us we were on the end and our neighbours seldom used the balcony and didn't smoke!
View across the well maintained gardens was lovely.  Drying rack came in handy.

Comfortable bed, good hot shower every night bar one, small fridge and brewing facilities when requested in the form of mugs and kettle, very effective air conditioning.  No safe, but host said they'd never had any issues so our concerns were allayed. Extra hangers provided upon request. Room cleaned daily by the lovely cleaning ladies.  Couple of minor observations in the room - wires hanging from centre of ceiling (presume maybe old ceiling fan removed?) and broken toilet roll holder. Small things and easy fixes so a bit of a shame to just leave them like that.  

We loved riding the bikes, although some are in better condition than others but for 5 euros a week, total bargain! The route into town is mostly along a cycle path on the main road. No helmets of course, but lights and locks.  Taxis are plentiful and there's a phone you can use in the hotel, quick and easy, 5 euros. 

Breakfast is continental style which was perfect to start our day. The only negative was our sitting was 7-8 which is a bit early when you're on your hols but we found coming later seemed fine and we ended up taking ours around 0830 most days. Ohrid is just wonderful. Picture perfect lake and Old Town with lots to explore. St Naum is a must do trip. The lake is like a warm bath, no salt water, no waves, so ideal for non swimmers too.  We were glad of our beach shoes because of the painful pebbles! Loads of lovely bars and restaurants and prices are very reasonable. A really lovely destination and somewhere a bit different from the normal Med spots. Oaza makes a good base as long as you're prepared to walk/cycle/taxi potentially twice each day as there are no local eateries or bars. The pool area is very pleasant and not busy during our stay. There's an honesty sheet for drinks, but we bought ours from the supermarket to stock up our fridge and it was so cheap to do.

Thanks to the hosts and staff for a memorable holiday and the two pet dogs who we nicknamed Little and Large loved our biscuit treats with their owners permission of course!
