Very clean place, beautiful location, with playing area for children, tasty food and generous portions, friendly staff, excellent services! I reccommend this pension and I am looking forward to come back again!

A peaceful oasis

Very very dissapointed. First the pros and cons and after our experience

Pros: 
- nice yard with a beautiful place to dine outside
- friendly staff
- ample parking space
- you can play pool
- clean (although the loubge area is in need of some upkeep)

Cons
- small room with no AC
- staff seemed poorly trained and clumsy at times
- mediocre food (to say the least)
- lounge area is unkempt
- there are no stores in the area and you can not get a drink after the restaurant closes at 10pm

Our experience: when we saw the four star rating we were expecting a lot more!

The traditional chicken soup (ciorba radauteana) had a funky tasting chicken, the omellette was very oily and overdone, the breakfast selection mentioned a cheese and salami platter but it was not specified that it was for both persons. What if we were more? 

The staff was friendly, but not very professional at times. One time we were not brought our salt and pepper, one time we waited 40 minutes for an eggplant salad because, apparently, they were just then roasting the eggplants (we were not told this after we ordered. The waiter told us after 25 minutes of us watching her bring food to people that had ordered way after us). 

The entire place is littered with signs forbidding food and drink from outside the premises (which is understandble) BUT if you were unfortunate enough to get thirsty after 10pm you can drink water only from the tap in the bathroom because the person handling reception refuses to serve you. This was by far the most infuriating incident we had!

Other small stuff we could've overlooked if everyrhing else was ok are: linen with a coffee stain on it (we hope), a chipped platter, if you wanted cappucino they only had instant cappucino powder (very tacky), the pool table was very used and the felt had many tiny tears, there was a fitness chair that looked absolutely horrible (the fabric was torn and it was very rusty). None of these things are acceptable at a four star resort and it seems to me the owner just doesn't care anymore as long as the money keeps coming in (because the price is definitely top range).

Not worthy of 4 stars nor your cash!

This B&B is located in a very nice area, surrounded by mountains. It also has a small pond with trouts nearby, and a play area for kids. We stayed here before and we liked it, it is clean and nice, so we went back again with a couple of friends. We had some problems with the reservation (we made the reservation for a price, and they asked more when we got there), but we solved them amiably. The food is good, particularly the "papanasi" (doughnuts with cheese, sour-cream and jam), among the best in the country! We will go there again!

Pine trees and green fields surround this boarding house. The children find a lounge and a small pond with fish, while the parents find a great area to rest and chat in peace. The facility offers cleanliness and has a restaurant with good food.

Excellent quality price ratio in a charming surrounding

The hotel is very nice as a structure, endowed with ample parking and outdoor spaces with garden,pans, gazebi and a pond with trout.The spacious and well-furnished rooms all have a private balcony, well-equipped bathroom, television and refrigerator.The hotel offers free wi-fi with good signal to the hotel's guests.

Good quality-price ratio

This roadside hotel-restaurant offers passers-by a local cuisine. Good overcooked staples, steak, poor sausage.

We stopped for dinner in the restaurant of this boarding house and enjoyed the excellent local cuisine that is offered but also a good pizza dock.

Have a great dinner.

Rooms are clean, food is delicious! Wi-fi is not working in the room only in reception. I was with my husband in August and we were feeling very good in this lovely place! You must try all tradițional dishes!

Nice!

The guest house is located on the way to the Humor Monastery and offers a quiet stay. Everything is elegantly furnished (room with balcony, restaurant and terrace). The staff is friendly, the food is very good.

Quiet and elegant hotel

The Elegance is a typical upscale Romanian pension. It has relatively new, and has nice location halfway between central Gura and the monastery at Humor. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the restaurant is surprisingly good. Unfortunately, this same restaurant has become a popular venue for parties and celebrations (weddings, birthdays, baptisms, etc). As anyone familiar with Romanian parties can tell you, these are not the lhappy talking till 11pm sort of affairs. These come with amplified bands &, earsplitting music, and they last until 3 or 4am. We have used the Elegance for smaller groups for several years, but two of our last three stays we encountered one of these gatherings, and were not able to sleep. If you book it be sure to ask ahead of time if there are any celebrations planned during your stay.
