Excellent
6515 reviewsMy experience with the staff members of the Hilton Tokyo began well in advance of my stay there. I had several specific important requests regarding my stay that I needed assurance would be taken care of. Several months before our arrival, I contacted the Concierge desk at the hotel to help me. I was very pleasantly surprised when I received a response within 30 minutes from Mr. Fukuda, one of the concierge staff, to the first of my many emails. The prompt email responses and the conscientiousness with which each staff member I corresponded with, provided great insight into the culture of excellent service this hotel is dedicated to. They fulfilled each of my requests which alleviated a lot of stress for me. The Hilton Tokyo is an outstanding hotel in every respect. Let me review each separately: Rooms: My wife and I stayed in a King Jr. Suite Executive, located on the 37th floor. This gave us access to the Executive Lounge. The room was extremely spacious. It came appointed with a king bed; a small table with two chairs near the window; a long sofa; two nightstands with USB ports, and a very large coffee table. The bed, like almost all Hilton beds, was very comfortable. The room was spotless and always meticulously maintained. HVAC: The HVAC unit operated flawlessly and was completely unobtrusive when it was in operation. Bathroom: The bathroom had a Toto bidet/toilet with a heated toilet seat. The sink had a standard sized mirror, but there wasn't a lot of counter space. The bathtub was very deep and located next to it was the shower. This set up facilitated the Japanese tradition of showering outside of the tub, and then using the tub to take a long, hot soak in. It was great! Executive Lounge: The Executive Lounge was open from 6:30 am to 8:30 pm. Breakfast was served from 6:30 am to 10:30 am. In addition to typical breakfast items, Japanese foods were also served. The food, and the selection of food, were very good. There was a broad selection of beverages, including alcoholic beverages. The staff members of the lounge were wonderful and accommodating. The hostesses always greeted us warmly and with a smile. Refreshments were served from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Cocktail time was from 5:00 pm to 7 pm. Because our room was a few doors from the lounge, it was very convenient to have our breakfast there. It was also a nice place to relax after returning from shopping or sightseeing. Dining: There are a number of restaurants located throughout the hotel. The Marble Lounge is a very big buffet that is located on the first floor. The variety of food offered is equally large. As a Diamond member, it was available for breakfast. We tried it once, but it was so crowded that we did not go back. Also located on the first floor is the St. George's Bar. This is a nice piano bar that has a small selection of food. The food was good and the atmosphere relaxing. On the second floor there are several other restaurants that we did not try. Shops: There are a number of shops located in the basement of the hotel. There is a convenience store there that is very convenient. The basement of the hotel also provides a convenient underground walkway from the hotel to the Nishi-Shinjuku Metro Station. Front Desk, Bell Service, and Door Service: Every interaction we had with the front desk staff, door staff, or bell staff was wonderful. Each person was very friendly and eager to help. This was particularly true when we needed to take a taxi somewhere. We simply informed the door person where we wanted to go. They would hail the taxi and, in Japanese, tell the driver where we wanted to go. Concierge Desk: As I stated previously, all the members of the Concierge Desk were outstanding. Mr. Nakamura, Mr. Fukuda. Ms. Okada, Ms. Tokita, and Ms. Fukunaga were all eager to meet whatever requests I had for them. They treated us wonderfully and made my wife and me feel that we were welcomed and appreciated guests of their hotel. This hotel and its staff provided us a level of service and comfort that is above all other hotels we have stayed at. That is not to demean any of the other hotels, because there have been some great ones. The Hilton Tokyo, however, is in a class of its own.
