Aldea Kuka

I was fortunate to stay at this campsite but unfortunately it was the last night I was on Isla Holbox. Since I was getting kicked out of my room at a hostel (a big group was coming in and was taking all the beds), I needed a place to stay. I ran into Pau (I had met him a few times at my hostel a few days prior) who had recently taken over ownership (or perhaps just managing the place) of this camp site. He provided me with a tent and had it all set up for me when I arrived in the late afternoon. Despite the close proximity of the airport as well as some standing water, I slept soundly in my cozy tent with not one mozzie able to get in! Since it was a new acquisition when I was there, there was no kitchen to use, the bathroom was being worked on and the bungalows needed a bit of TLC, but no doubt soon enough all that will get an overhaul. It didn't matter to me since I was only staying one night. If one is staying longer on the island, one can rent the bungalows by the month. I wish Pau luck in getting the camp site up and running.
