Ayşe Hanım Konağı

I hope this is the right place. I wrote the name down as Harim rather than Hanim. I wasn't originally booked here, but the place that had been pre-booked let me down, so I needed a room rather urgently. This hotel overlooking the river next to the bridge was only recently opened in one of the old houses that overhang the river in Amasya. They gave me a room with a river view. The accommodation is fairly simple but certainly good enough. When something went wrong it was fixed straightaway. Although no-one spoke much English (Amasya is not yet on the international tourist trail) the people there could not have been more helpful - finding me breakfast on the first day of Ramazan, with a lovely shady courtyard to eat it in. This is a chance to wish them well-deserved good luck at a bad time for starting a new hotel!
