This is real gem from reervation to check out.
We made our own reservation and after we ask for some precisions by e-mail : everytime we got a quick and complete respons.
Check in as quite verywhere in Norway is so simple : 1-2 mn.
Our room in the main building was perfect : space for the clothes, nice bathroom, and enough space in the room to have our staff...It is quiet(after 10 pm noone on the road) 
The meals here are of a rare quality :
buffet breakfast with fish, meat, cereals, eggs and vegetables/potatoes,...
If you have the complkete bpoard you majeke your own lunchbox and they give you paper to envelopp and bags to put in...The evening before you can depose your thermo in several baskets and you got it full of what you requested...(coffe, tea...).
Diner are of great quality : fish (trout, salmon , artic char...) of sevreal preparations, meat and pate(rein, moose, lamb, pork...) biut also a preparation hot(vegetables, potatoes, ragout or roasted, cut by ther chief). Nice choice of cheeses, very various and good desserts...The difficult is to choose.
You are wellcomed here and they do all to amker your sejour fine and unforgettable.
One of the best adress we found during all our voyages...

Perfection in Jotunheim

We stayed here for 3 nights in 1 hotel room (the cabins were booked full, so I can't comment on them). We choose 3 nights because that allowed us to choose between 2 days to hike Besseggen Ridge. We are glad we did because we arrived and our 1st day was rainy and foggy. The 2nd day was perfect with morning clouds and then sunny. Anyway - back to the lodge. We enjoyed the basic hotel room that had large bathroom and my wife says the shower was fabulous with excellent water pressure. The beds were 2 twins pushed together, but comfortable. The included breakfast started at 06:30 but we grabbed some items before we left for the hike at 6:05/10. We didn't eat at the restaurant as it was expensive. We had a cooler (which the front desk refrigerated for us). The wifi is only available near reception and didn't reach our room, but we chose not to get a data plan during our Norway holiday. But the only reason to choose this lodge would be the location - right around the corner to the Besseggen trail head. If you don't want to camp before of after Besseggen, this lodge is simple, yet perfect.

Lodge for Besseggen Ridge!

We stayed in a hotel room here, and the room was nice.  There was a bathroom with a shower in the room.  The food at the hotel was also good, and the location was great for lots of hiking trails.  I would definitely stay her again.

Nice hotel

 Eautiful and cozy place to stay after a long hike in Jotunheimen Park. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant serves tasty Norwegian dishes. Loved it, and would strongly recommend it, and not to mention that they are 100% dog friendly! 

Beautiful place! 

The place is very beautiful and a good place to start if you want to do the Bessegen hike. The hotel will prepare a thermos for your hike and you can take anything you want at the breakfast buffet, if you take the lunch option which is highly recommended as there itsn't much else around.

The room is nice, but would need a little refresh (paint + furniture look a little overdue).

The dinner served there is very good, but the room gets a bit noisy when all the tables are taken.

Good location if you like to hike Besseggen. The cabin has all you need (except for wifi). And a nice view on the mountains. It's clean and beds are OK. It takes you 5 minutes by car to get to the parking if Besseggen hike. 

Nice and spacious cabin

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. Cool, I've found that it's not an 0815 tourist hotel, but mostly Norwegians. I noticed that it had a lot of families. (Besides the hotel, there are also cabins to rent, or the campground). But we stayed at the hotel: our room was very spacious with shower/WC and a small seating area. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. WLAN is only in the lobby and this is not all fast, but it's fast enough to check out the latest tourist coffee.

Comfortable hotel on the edge of the Jotunheimen National Park

Just 3 km from Gjendesheim and the Besseggen hike. Fairly priced for a large, renovated 2 BR cabin (#29), though we did have to clean up the place before we left (which is typical for cabins in Norway) or else incur a 500 NOK charge. The cabin is a duplex, but well sound-proofed; we didn't hear anything from our neighbors. We brought our own linens from the US (Amazon - Friendly Swede) since we were staying in several cabins during our trip. Bessheim will allow you to rent just towels for a lesser charge than the full linens set. The young staff was very nice, friendly, and knowledgeable about hiking in the area, including details of Besseggen. 
From the upper level bedrooms there was a nice view of the lake. There are trails up the ridge behind the lodge that start right from the lodge, good for a short walk (or longer if you wanted - you can hike Besseggen directly from Bessheim).
The restaurant was terrific - I reviewed it separately.
Only bad thing was the wifi, which was nonexistent in the room, and fair but variable in the main lodge sitting area.

Comfortable, good value accommodation for Besseggen area

We had to use these cabins as an emergency, our emergency bags, the cabin has a fairly large common area but they're somewhat sloppy, you can use the common areas and lounges of the hotel that's stuck, the treatment is right, nothing more.

A good option to take the Besssegen excursion.

Location: idyllic by a lake, great views. About 10 minutes by car to Gjendesheim. Also on foot you can reach Besseggen from here via a hiking trail. Service: Nice & friendly. It is fully informed about the Besseggen tour. You can do your own cleaning or book for a fee, as well as bedding and towels. WiFi in the lobby area. This also invites you to stay at the cocoa and waffles and the fireplace. Very good. Equipment: rooms partly in the years, but ok. Food can be prepared yourself. There is even a small washing machine available. Facilities: clear recommendation.
