I stayed 4 nights in this hotel.
There was no cleaning at all during my 4-day stay.

But even worse:
Hotel staff had searched my bag while I had a daytrip out of town.
Later I found out one item was missing (thankfully not a valuable item).

Staff cannot be trusted!

Avoid Ocean Hotel at all costs!!!

Booked for one night through Booking.com at US$37–a fairly low price for Bishkek.The owner kindly arranged for pick-up, which I accepted (10 US$ instead of the standard 9$ taxi-fare from the airport but the place is hard to find so I didn’t mind—and the driver got the whole fare.
The hotel is located on the ground floor of a large apartment block in the midst of a grey soviet-style compound with trees and wild plants growing everywhere in the yard (“Good bye Lenin” atmosphere). The owner, Nura was quite welcoming and babbled away in fluent English. My room, a re-designed appartement room was large, clean, comfortable and well furnished (I would have wanted a bed-side reading lamp but it is not very common in Central Asia). The en-suite bathroom was perfect. On the other hand breakfast was a bit disappointing (2 puff balls, a cup of tea and a banana) and served on a tray in the room. Since I asked to prolong my stay, I was offered to stay in a studio near by. I accepted and was quoted a price that I understood to be $18 a night ( really dirt cheap in Bishkek where hotels are rather expensive. It turned out to be 34, still a fairly good deal given the property). I was moved in the late afternoon to a large studio in a fairly luxurious new building, with a balcony facing the Ala Too chain, a full kitchen, a full bathroom, including a washing machine), a hallway and of course a big bedroom. For breakfast, I will have to prepare it myself or buy a large cappuccino from a store by the university building nearby. And like the hotel proper this is within a five minutes’ walk of Chuy Avenue, one of the main streets of Bishkek.

Surprising and a good deal after all

I spent three nights  at Ocean hotel and I don't  complain. The location  is good ,the  room  very  comfortable  and clean with  a big window. There are two problems: the breakfast is awful  (really  doesn't exist) and  the  staff don't  speak  English. 

Nice  room

I wish I had read the previous review earlier. Do not trust the owner of the hotel. We corresponded for several days, where we were confirmed to book four numbers. And two days before the arrival of the guests, we were informed that there were no rooms for us. And it happened in the midst of the tourist season!

Owner not trustable - 2.

We wanted to stay at this hotel and booked through airbnb for 7 people. The owner said she preferred to be paid in cash, so she declined the airbnb booking and told us she would keep the 3 rooms we booked for us.

After confirming several days and several times with her before arriving, when we finally get there after an exhausting road trip, we are told to wait. After 30 minutes, the owner calls and tells us she needs to move us to another place as one couple has decided to extend their stay. 45 minutes after, she finally comes with a taxi to pick us up, and instead of apologising for the situation, starts to say it is our fault because we were supposed to arrive later. Not only was it wrong but also this wouldn't have changed anything to the room being occupied!

Then, we told her we wanted to stay at the same place and close to Bishkek's center, as it was our last night together before leaving Kyrgyzstan. Once we arrive at the place, we are all split between different apartments, quite far from the center and cherry on the cake, she tries to make us pay airbnb price for each apartment, meaning 3 times the initial price!!!

After arguing for a while, she accepted the initial amount, we stayed there and the flats were ok.

My recommendation is to stay away from this place, as this woman is really dishonest and there are many other honest options in town.
