Feeling at home

Beautiful corner of paradise very close to the airport the owner and staff of a unique kindness, clean rooms and characteristics outside there is a beautiful relaxation area immersed in the green where you can enjoy great food at low prices highly recommended

That's great.

We really loved it here. Before we went to Arusha from Zanzibar for our safari, we slept here one night and when we came back we slept here again since it's close to the airport. We were very happy that we came back at the same people after our safari, because it really felt like coming home after 4 days of basic camping. There were 3 baby cats that came chilling in our lap while we were sitting outside our room and the women that worked here were really interested in us and had heartwarming things to say; they loved the fact that we were speaking some words swahili and that we actually came to hang out a little bit and hoped we'd come back. Also, the coffee they gave us here was way better than all the other coffee we had been drinking in Zanzibar so far and the driver was reachable at all times if we wanted to be picked up from chaotic Stonetown (where you don't just want to pick a cab from the street since they can be unreliable). We walked to the beach within 20 minutes where we had great cocktails and a lovely last sunset at 'Sea View Hotel'.

LOVELIEST people, CUTEST cats, BEST coffee

It's a very nice hotel if you're flying very early or very late. The owner is very kind. The room is very nice for $9 a night. The bed is a little soft but you really can't complain about that price.

Three practical

I was visiting my friends in a nearby village and needed a place to stay for one night. The owner was super kind and picked me up from the village late in the evening. The rooms are simple but very clean. The common area of the hostel is full of beautiful green plants and lovely cats that are well taken care of and friendly. All the staff is very kind and helpful and the owner is absolutely wonderful. He speaks great English and clearly enjoys having a conversation with guests. The atmosphere of the place is very welcoming and it feels like home from the first moment when you step in. I highly recommend the place!

Home-like place to stay 

Very charismatic owner told me that everything is possible at Amira’s – breakfast in the middle of the night, very early airport transfer and someone will get you a beer if needed 😊 Hotel is located very close to the airport so it is perfect when you have an early morning flight. We spent only one night there but we met people who have stayed there for a couple of days and they were satisfied. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The only thing is that the bed could be more comfortable but it was ok.

Perfect for this price

Amira`s Rooms is run by the wonderful Salim. He will pick you up at the airport free of charge and give you all the knowledge you need to know about the area. The Guest House is situated 4 miles from Stone Town but is easily reached on the local 505 Bus for 10p! The rooms are shabby chic, all a different colour, clean & spacious. The breakfast is very good & the staff will create a tasty lunch or dinner at a very reasonable price. This place is a perfect introduction to Zanzibar.

Wonderful

Relaxing stay in the suburbs with comfortable beds, hot showers and nice outdoor restaurant area.
Don't expect luxury or fine dining for this price and you wont be disappointed!
The owner even gave us a lift to our next destination after breakfast for free.

Great place for early/late airport arrival or departures

We chose this hostel because it was close to the airport. We were picked up for free. The attention was great, water on arrival, smiles and a simple and clean room with bathroom inside. It has a nice patio and wifi and from the main street, a 2' walk away, you can pick up a Dala Dala for 300& = 0.15€. In 15' we leave in Stone Town. It's not worth taking a taxi. Ask the hostel who will tell you which number of Dala Dala is the one that takes you down and stay on your way to land near Amira's Room. The next day we were taken to the airport for $5 (also we had dalas but we were with the right time and suitcases).

Good price and attention.

The most important thing is the staff. Thank you to Salim and all his team. Any questions, any requests will not go unanswered. The perfect place to start exploring Zanzibar. It is very close to the airport. At the same time, near Stone Town. There is a Marriott nearby where you can spend time on a secluded beach. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the area.
