Vila Brasina

Villa Brasina is a great option if you want to relax or sightsee in the Dubrovnik area. It is on the main road from airport to Dubrovnik and beyond and buses are frequent. The villa itself is not a very modern building, which adds to the charm, the lovely housekeeper, Ane (pronounced Anna), is amazing and makes sure that everything is as it should be. This is probably the most relaxing place I have ever stayed and would definitely recommend it - all other guests said the same. It is priced well for the amenities and a great location to walk to the local beach areas of Sebreno, Milini and Kupari. The gorgeous resort of Cavtat is about 20 minutes by bus, 15 by car but not walkable. Several restaurants and a small shopping mall 5 mins walk away you can get everything you need here. We had a two bed apartment which was immaculate when we arrived, bedding and towels all smelled lovely and clean. We were on the ground floor with a lovely little outside patio shaded with vines with wooden furniture which was just a few steps from the beautiful swimming pool area. Pool water is not heated but was never freezing cold and was always welcome as the weather was very hot. Sunbeds had mattresses on them and there are clean beach towels on them every day. There were never more than about 6 people around the pool which was lovely and relaxing - many go sightseeing in the day. Beds were very comfortable with foam mattress toppers, kitchen area was adequate with plenty of utensils, pots, pans, plates etc. There were 2 shower rooms and one had a fully working washing machine, handy if you're staying more than a week. If there is anything you need, you only have to ask Ane and it's arranged. Aircon is free and in the main living area and one bedroom. Owner was happy to provide a large fan, but the room situation kept it naturally cool anyway. One bedroom does not have it but leave open the bedroom door for a short while and it's cool. Mosquitos are in abundance, so use plenty of repellant, even in the day. I cannot say how relaxed I feel upon return home, thank you to all at Villa Brasina for a wonderful holiday.
