I never got to find out how bad the motel was per the other reviews. I booked two nights through Expedia three months ahead of my stay and confirmed my reservation by phone DIRECT WITH THE MOTEL about three weeks before my stay.  I was given one day's warning that my reservation had been canceled by the motel with no reason why!  Expedia tried calling them and couldn't get through. Due to it being peak fall foliage season in Vermont there wasn't another available room in the entire area - maybe the whole state.  Unless I wanted to sleep in my rental car for two nights I had no option but to cancel the rest of my vacation and fly home early.

Beware of the motel canceling your reservation

I stayed for a night here. It was the cheapest in and around Rutland. Thotugh not cheap in absolute terms. I faced three problems. 1) The hotel advertises availability of Wifi but their network was unreachable from my room, which was close to their office. 2) The door/lock to the room needs lubrication. I had trouble unlocking it when I got in. I could not open it from inside in the morning and had to call the front desk to come and let me out. I decided to check out earlier than I was planning to because of this. I checked out of the room as soon as the owner let me out of the room. 3) It is very difficult to get taxi taxi from this place or may be everywhere around Rutland. I got a phone number of a local cab company from the front desk. I called several times between 7:30 in the morning to 8 AM in the morning and reached their voicemail. After a few attempts I  could reach another company I had used before. The driver turned out to be very rude. Of course that was not the hotel's fault, just that, dont stat at Rutland or this hotel if you dont have a car

Budget hotel, to be avoided unless you are on shoestring budget

We took one look at our room and got a refund. The place is truly disgusting. When I went back to the front desk and told the owner we changed our minds and would be straying elsewhere, he just shrugged his shoulders and said 'ok', as if this were a common occurrence.

We were looking for a budget hotel for the night as we were just passing through. The $60 rate was good. I didn’t read the Trip Advisor reviews until after we checked in.  Our room as in back in a small wing, it had a low ceiling but was clean.  It looked like the headboards, stand and wall lights were new.  One bath towel was even very plush.  The mattresses were old and soft.  We had WiFi which was a bit slow, flat screen tv and many channels.  No bad. Maybe the owners are renovating the rooms?

Worn but clean

there were roaches everywhere and when i complained, they gave me roach spray to use! after aarguing, i got the rest of our money back. place is nasty. the indian owners are rude and mean. i would not let any kids stay here. i live in Rutland,.and this is the very worst motel in Rutland...

wow I have stayed there in the winter heat is not included in the price but if u complain and no one else is using it they offer an electric heater and if ur weekly you get one set of towels, sheets and my daughter bought my a $40.00 blue diamond  orchid while staying there the ceiling in my room was fell in destroying my $40.00 plant and to change rooms I was told my rate would go up because they only had a kitchenette available also my daughter stayed 2 weeks ago and found needles above the mirror the hotel did nothing the police came and disposed of them after my daughter was told not to put them outside its bad for business
