We were very surprised to show up to a demolition zone when we arrived at the hotel. We booked reservations a few months in advance and paid the deposit. We never received notification of the building demolition/hotel closing. The phone's been disconnected so we couldn't call to sort it out with the old hotel manager. Hoping credit card company will refund us the money. Thankful we were able to find last minute accommodations in the city which was nearly at full capacity. DON'T BOOK HERE!!

Hotel no longer exists but still took money

The hotel is in a very convenient location.  I didn't rent a car & was able to walk to all of the tour departure locations from the hotel.  There are lots of shopping & restaurants within a few blocks but if you want to get groceries plan on taking a cab or going on a longer walk (about 40 min walk to the closest Wal-Mart).  There is a very large/long park about a block away that used to be the airport.  There were soccer games and other events happening while I was there but I had no issues with noise.
As others have written, there is not 24 hour reception & you're given a code to enter the building & collect your keys from a lock box.  Ensure the code is 4 digits - the email I received only had 3 but luckily someone let me in when I arrived.  I easily found the lock box with my room keys when I entered the building.
The building and room looked exactly like the website so I knew what to expect.  It's not new and there are signs of wear (stained carpet, marked up walls etc.), but was overall clean and felt safe for a single traveler.  Compared to other places I'd considered, it was quite a bit less expensive and I felt like it was a good value for the cost.

Nothing fancy but clean, safe and in a great location

Pros: Good location, spacious room, free parking, very good water pressure in shower.

Cons: The space, while pleasantly roomy, was dated and tired. The kitchen look like it had been last touched in 1970 (chipped formica counters, old plywood cabinets). The mattress was *bad*; it was actually concave \__/, and my husband and I spent the entire night sleeping at angles, trying not to roll into the middle. The toilet did not work properly, which was obviously known to the management, given that there was a cheesy plunger right next to it. We could have lived with all of it had the mattress been decent.

Good location, but some major issues (the Poor rating is due to the bed; otherwise, Average +)

Due to its locality of just 0.5 miles (0.8 km) from downtown where Egan Convention and the Visitor Information Center are located in which  majority of the shuttle out of Anchorage or tours within the city pickup and drop-offs points. Even the local bus main terminal, People Mover is just 0.2 miles (0.35 km) away.

I stayed in an one-room apartment that comes with a living cum dining area and a kitchen. The unit was clean and would be good in particular for those on a couple of nights stay and needed to be near the transportation hubs besides easy access to downtown.

Great restaurants are also aplenty in the vicinity despite not having any food outlets on its premises.

3-pointers for consideration - the rooms are not air-conditioned given the mild summer in Alaska and neither does it has elevator accessed within its 4-floors besides no 24-hours reception but there is always a number to contact if assistance is needed. 

My only challenge was a late checked-in with the office closed and I had to lugged my almost 44lbs (20kg) up to my room on the 4th floor despite asking for a lower floor room after making the reservation in which I was told that I will be allocated a room on the 2nd floor. I know I can call for assistance but bearing in mind, some international cell lines would not have any service in Alaska!

Superb Location

i read the reviews of the hotel stating that it was like an old apartment building but i actually liked it. it was a little dated yes, but was in good shape. we had a 2-bedroom suite. the room was clean and comfortable. it has a full kitchen which made it easier if you'd like to cook. but the fridge in our room was not cooling when we stayed. 
the location was good. close to restaurants and shops. parking was on site and convenient. 
wifi was also good enough. 
check-in process was like rental apartments. you get a code to access the building and the key box. it was handy upon our arrival so i would say it's well organized. 
one more thing to note was that there was no elevator. we did not have much luggage but for those who do, need to take this into account.

comfortable rooms at good location

This hotel is centrally located. It is only 10 to 15 minutes from the centre and the old town. It is family-friendly and easily accessible from all sides. There are enough parking spaces around the hotel. Large bedroom, dining and living room, kitchen ink. dishes, coffee machine, refrigerator etc., toilet and bathtub. Everything very clean! Reception good and nice service. Helpful. We were able to even deposit our suitcases in the house on the way from Big Lake to Juneau/Petersburg. We can highly recommend the hotel.
