Hotel Heeren van Ghemert / De Hoefpoort

We booked at this hotel as it was local to an event we were attending and we were glad we did! A quirky hotel with the rooms on the opposite side of a village square to the bar/restaurant. We pulled up outside the bar to check-in without a parking space mainly to check we were in the right place. Checked in and were personally shown across to the room and had all the procedures explained, then coming back a car parking space had appeared so the manager stood in the spot while I retrieved the car, great personal service! I had said that we would put the bags in the room then come back to the bar for a meal and when we returned a table next to the window and the open fire was waiting for us. Considering it was only the week after New Year, the bar was very busy with people eating and drinking. The atmosphere was great, the food was excellent and the friendly service even better. The bedroom was comfortable and warm with en suite shower and free wifi. As we were leaving before breakfast was served in the main bar a breakfast box was left for us packed full of plenty of things to keep us going for the day! Couldn't fault anything and it may be 12 months before we are back in the area, but this hotel would be my first choice to stay again! An absolute pleasure!
