Hotel Star Inn Lisbon Aeroporto

We were very impressed by the Star Inn. Lots of airport hotels don’t try at all as they have a captive audience but the Star Inn was great. The reception was well designed to fit with the theme of stars and the staff were all friendly and helpful. I had a light lunch of soup at the hotel and then we had an early breakfast before our flight where we enjoyed the freshly cut fruit and mini pastries. We also had a very good evening meal at the Mélia Hotel opposite, part of the same group. The pool and gym at the Melia can be used for a charge but we didn’t use those facilities. The shuttle bus run by the Melia hotel took us the short distance to the hotel the next day although you could also walk. We had an oddly L- shaped room where the bed and bathroom was around the corner from the window and desk so there was no direct light. I wasn’t keen on that but we were grateful for an early check in at one o’clock. This is personal preference but I also dislike the bathroom. There was a glass cubicle for the loo, with spaces at the top, bottom and sides of the door, another glass cubicle for the shower and the sink in an open area where you had to pull a curtain for privacy. I much prefer a bathroom where I can close the door! But aside from these minor quibbles it was a great place to stay and I would stay again but request a different room.
