Santiago de Alfama - Boutique Hotel

Our family absolutely loved our stay at Santiago de Alfama—it quickly became one of our favorite hotels. The building has charm; our room featured an original stone arch dating back to the fiffteeth century, adding a sense of history that’s hard to top. The hotel is tastefully decorated with beautiful artwork throughout, including two Matisse prints along the staircase between the second and third floors—an unexpected and delightful touch. Service was exceptional. The staff was warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful in organizing our plans, from restaurant reservations to local tours. Their thoughtful suggestions really elevated our Lisbon experience. Breakfast at Audrey’s was a daily highlight—delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. We especially enjoyed sitting outside on the quiet street in Alfama, soaking in the peaceful morning atmosphere. Location-wise, it couldn’t have been better. We were just a short walk to Castelo de São Jorge, which we loved touring (be sure to ask the hotel about group tour schedules). On the way, we discovered a great little stop at Gelato Bar, perfect for a mid-walk treat. Lisbon Cathedral was also a short walk away. If you’re looking for a hotel that combines historic character, excellent service, great food, and a perfect location in one of Lisbon’s most charming neighborhoods, Santiago de Alfama is it. Highly recommended.
