great outdoor pool,family run hotel,serving only breakfast,friendly staff,nice bar with small serving snacks. only that I don't like is the small bathroom.

Now first you have to remember, that this is Greece - you only get luxury and the feel of modern day in big resorts. Hotels in small villages are cute and a bit out-dated, but that what get’s me in the Greek-mode! 

We switched to Venus after being very disappointed with Lambros. We were heartily welcomed eventhough we arrived late in the evening and without a reservation. The price was reasonable and we felt right at home from the very beginning. 

Don’t be fooled by the location - Venus is right outside the Kokkari village center and only a few minutes walk to the stores and restaurants - as good location as any and a very calm area. 

The hotel is rather big for a small town hotel and has the largest pool in the area. The breakfast area is lovely and breakfast has all you need - not a huge variety, but a good buffet to start your day. 

The rooms are roomy and with nice balconies. Most importantly, the room was tidy and lovely, felt like home. We had a view to the mountains. 

The little bar serves your drink needs for the pool-time and you can also play pool (billiard) at the hotel. 

Should we ever return to Samos, there’s absolutely no reason why we wouldn’t return to Venus!

Amazing 

First Time in Kokkari and the Venus hotel. Traditionally Greek hotel which is basic and extremely clean, always seemed to be a cleaner around. Proprietors are friendly, always around and nothing was too much trouble. I spoke to people that return to this hotel year after year and I can understand why. Pool is superb and again extremely clean so if your looking for a peaceful relaxing hotel, this place is ideal. We will certainly be back. 

Relaxing place

Me and my partner stayed in the Hotel Venus for a week. It is a lovely hotel and was extremely clean. The pool was an impressive size and was cleaned daily. The hotel had lots of little quirks such as the cabinets of curiosity that contained all sorts of artefacts which were very interesting! Maria, the hotel owner, was lovely and friendly and couldn't have been more helpful! All of the staff in the hotel were lovely too and would always greet us with a smile. 

The breakfast was continental with breads, meat and cheese but there was also some cereal, fruit and yogurt on offer. Some mornings there were fried eggs, and some mornings there were pancakes.

The pool bar offered some yummy snack and drinks options which were a reasonable price. 

The only thing that could make the hotel better would be to have a kettle in the room so we could make a cup of tea!

Lovely Hotel

My husband and I have just returned from a excellent holiday in the Venus Hotel Kokkari, Samos. The Hotel is well situated on a main road into the Village. We spent much of our time in the lovely large pool where we had a choice of sunbeds and umbrellas. The Hotel was spotless with bed linen and towels changed six days a week. The staff were excellent as were the Management team of Maria and Costas who were very welcoming and friendly. The only downside was the rather small shower area but this in our opinion was a minor detail.

Excellent holiday at the Venus

My husband and I just returned from a week at this hotel that we hadn't chosen but that Eden imposed on us for an overbooking. What to say...the only nice thing is the swimming pool for the rest is really poor. It's an old hotel, frequented mainly by Germans, Dutch and some English, average age 70 years. Reading the reviews it seemed nice (the photos of the rooms were not there) but then we realized that it wasn't so, obviously the positive reviews come from people who accept a very simple, limited structure. Breakfast is non-existent (for us Italians): mainly salted foods and eggs, yogurt and dried cookies, and marble tents.

Highly recommended!!!!

The hotel is located on the outskirts of the city, about 300 m from the beach. The pool is relatively large and is continuously over 1.80 m deep. From the pool terrace (with pool bar) you can see over a lot of greenery to the bizarre remote mountains of the hinterland. Most guests come from the Netherlands. The breakfast is quite poor, the prices at the hotel bar are quite affordable. A free WiFi use is possible near the reception. The rooms are relatively small, but all have a balcony (only smoking is allowed).

Friendly and family friendly

Great place! We liked the very friendly atmosphere and the great view there. Great for vacationers who want to explore the area, go to the beach or just hang out by the pool. Great time there...

Enchanted by the atmosphere...

The owners of this hotel make sure that you have a great stay. The hotel was very clean, you could get anywhere in the city of Kokkari quickly and it had a great pool. The restaurants in the city were also excellent. I can only highly recommend this family run hotel.
