Kontseta Guesthouse

Absolute delightful little apartment a very short walk from the ferry. It’s like a little cave, so it never gets hot. The air con is the quietest I’ve ever encountered. Very comfortable bed, lovely balcony with a view across the bay. 
It’s up quite a few steps, but the owner, George, will carry cases for you. He also came early on the day we left to help us with our luggage. 
We’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

I loved this place from the very first moment.. perfect for whoever is looking for a true Cycladic escape. The location is perfect, 2 minutes walking from the ferry’s arrival site at the port. The view on the port is stunning.The owners are the most welcoming and friendly, always available and helpful. Perfect in its simplicity, will definitely go back!

Our studio was just as expected, super clean & fully equipped with everything you need (kitchenette, air conditioning, free wifi). The hosts were friendly & helpful with everything we needed! The best benefits are the studio's location & majestic view. You can find a bank, a pharmacy & 2 different bakeries right next door! Also, the "Martinakia" beach is only a 6 min walk. We felt at home & will definitely choose Kontseta Guesthouse when we visit Kythnos island next year! :)

This must be the best location! Well, if you have problems with steps, don't stay here. We used the steps as good exercise (69 to our apt). A wonderful view from the balcony and a beautiful sunset. George and his mother, always at hand, and the place is spotless! Close to the ferry, restaurants and beaches.

This was the perfect place for my visit to Kythnos. The hotel is a quick walk from the ferry and at a central location to the beach, stores, restaurants, cafes, etc... The room had everything for a comfortable stay, very clean, and spectacular view of the harbor and sea. The owners were very gracious and shared the local history as they are one of the oldest families on the island. George was helpful in coordinating many hikes and walks throughout the island which was a great way to experience the island!

We spent 3 nights at the Kontseta Guesthouse in Merichas and loved the place and the island.  Our room was up high above the port with wonderful views of the bay and the sunset.  The apartment had a small kitchenette which was great for breakfast on either of our two balconies.  We enjoyed wine on the balcony while watching the gorgeous sunset in the evenings. George and Zoe were wonderful hosts. George met us at the port and brought our luggage up the many stairs to our room. Bottled water was supplied each day.  It was a great place to stay on a lovely island.  Be sure to visit the villages of Chora and Driopida. The hot spring in Loutra was worth the trip. We would return.

The rooms were clean and spacy. On top of the harbour and near all the facilities. Easy access from the ship with parking. Rooms also have cooking place, iron and our room (perfect for a 4person family) also had two sofas and a washing machine. The owners of the place are very kind and helpful and will offer you valuable information on the island.

Big clean rooms with good view and nice people

I had initially booked this hotel as a honeymoon vacation and was excited to arrive.

My wedding was cancelled. I called the hotel to ask for their understanding that we wouldn't be coming any more and their response was so unprofessional at a time when we were trying to deal with so many other issues as a result of the cancellation.

The hotel would not return my calls or answer the phone after I had initially made contact, they passed me from person to person when they would eventually pick up, they were so rude to when me asking why should I expect to have my reservation returned and were very sly to deal with, making up points about previous conversations. Eventually booking.com helped us out.

I was asking a small family run hotel to help me with my situation and they responded so unkindly, I won't be making another booking at the kontsetas.
